The Conscience of a Nation

Publisher's Note

We are approaching the half-century mark of the dubious Supreme Court decisions of Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton, which ratified the killing of unborn children for whatever reason at any time during a woman’s pregnancy.

Along the way, millions of pro-life men, women and children have provided an inspirational example for their fellow countrymen by attending the March for Life in Washington and similar events throughout the United States and praying that their country rejects the culture of death and regains its moral bearings.

As our page-one stories by Brian Fraga and Patti Armstrong illustrate, the United States is making strides to do just that. Pro-life events are gaining in number. More state governments, faced with a year’s worth of damning evidence from Planned Parenthood itself, are working to curtail the largest purveyor of abortion in the U.S.

EWTN will once again provide full coverage of the Washington event — annually downplayed by the mainstream media — for those who cannot attend in person.

These are all welcome signs. We must continue to pray for the conscience of our nation, our elected officials and all voters, in the enduring hope that we are able to finally eradicate this scourge.

God bless you!
