Stand Up for Life

Publisher's Note

Jan. 22 will mark the start of the 40th year since the Supreme Court legalized abortion in the United States.

Each year on the anniversary of that tragic decision, Americans have taken to the streets of Washington, D.C. — and streets across the country — to affirm the Declaration of Independence’s recognition that all people are endowed by their Creator with the unalienable right to life.

In this issue, we give you a taste of what will unfold in the nation’s capital and some of the major cities in the U.S. for the anniversary.

We can usually count on the secular media to downplay the impact of the March for Life — so count on us at the Register to give you a fair and truthful portrayal of the good people who brave sometimes harsh weather to stand up for the unborn and those society deems unworthy of the gift of life.

In addition to our print content, I urge you to go to our website, NCRegister.com, for live coverage of events in Washington and elsewhere. Know that we’ll be working to keep you informed and inspired in this fight.

God bless you!
