God Always Provides

Publisher's Note

God always shows us, often in subtle ways, that he is the answer to everything. The year 2015, which we bring to a close in this issue, has been another testament to this timeless reality.

In a tumultuous year that saw marriage redefined in the United States and Ireland, the Church gave us the canonizations of Louis and Zélie Martin, parents of St. Thérèse of Lisieux, to look to as exemplars of marriage and the Catholic family.

As we witness the increase of international and domestic terrorism — whether by Islamic fundamentalists or mentally disturbed individuals with a misguided sense of justice — the Church gives us the Year of Mercy.

At a time when advances in technology and media seem to push humanity farther apart, instead of closer together in community, God has blessed the Register and EWTN with significant gains that allow us to reach more and more people with the message of the Gospel.

As we close the Octave of Christmas and examine our consciences for ways to make 2016 better than 2015, I pray that you embrace the Year of Mercy, allowing God’s perfect mercy and love to accompany you and your families throughout the year ahead.

God bless you!
