Pope Benedict XVI celebrated a Mass yesterday commemorating the 50th anniversary of the death of Pope Pius XII.

As Father Raymond de Souza noted in his recent “Great Eights” series for the Register, Pius XII’s death marked a decisive moment in the history of the Church.
