Vatican spokesman Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi said President-elect Barack Obama telephoned Pope Benedict XVI yesterday.
The president called the Pope to thank him for the congratulatory telegram the Holy Father sent last week following Obama’s election victory, Catholic News Service reported today.
