iBreviary Prayers

Got an iPhone or an iPod? The iPhone Appstore now has something available to help you pray.

The iBreviary, created by Italian priest Father Paolo Padrini, makes the breviary available in Spanish, French, English, Latin and Italian through iTunes for use on Apple devices.

The iBreviary also gives access to other Catholic prayers and to daily Mass readings.

The iBreviary download costs $1.10. A related Facebook application called “Praybook“ will also be released, allowing people with other mobile devices to have similar access to the Internet prayer resource.

Msgr. Paul Tighe, secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications, praised the new application Monday, Associated Press reported.

According to Msgr. Tighe, the Church “is learning to use the new technologies primarily as a tool or as a mean of evangelizing, as a way of being able to share its own message with the world.”
