An abortionist at a clinic in Charleston South Carolina allegedly brandished a loaded weapon at a group of pro-life protestors early Saturday morning and was arrested shortly after.

Gary Boyle, 62, of Blountville Tennessee, drove into the driveway behind the Charleston Women’s Medical Center near where three pro-lifers stood and reportedly waved a handgun and pointed it at them.

The pro-lifers decided to call police who arrived at the scene shortly after, went into the clinic, confiscated the weapon and arrested the doctor on charges related to pointing a weapon. News reports indicate that Boyle was released on a $25,000 bail shortly after.

Some of the protesters were there as part of the 40 Days for Life organization while others regularly stand outside the clinic every Saturday. One protester who asked not to be named said, “the protesters don’t ever threaten anybody, they never cross onto the property of the clinic, and don’t impede access to the clinic.”

He said he and two others went behind the clinic and stood in the parking lot in expectation of the arrival of the abortionist.

He said they never know which abortionist will come to the clinic as there are three or four abortionists who alternate duties each week and Boyle had come in from out of state on other occasions but the pro-lifers never had any interaction with him.

“As he pulled into the clinic yesterday he had a gun pointed at us. He had his gun at the window,” he said. “I think he showed the gun to intimidate us. But the guy has no respect for life. He’s been killing babies for 25-30 years. Who’s to know he wouldn’t have pulled the trigger and said we provoked it?”

The pro-lifer said that he was most pleased that the clinic “essentially had to shut down” after Boyle, the abortionist, was arrested. He said he hoped that maybe some women who were considering abortion and couldn’t get one would perhaps reconsider.  He said that would be one good thing to come out of this situation.

Which is the first MSM who’d report this.  ( ... crickets chirping .. )

If he is even brought up on charges he will likely be let go…becuase abortions are still leagal. Gary will just say he was going to perform a late term abortion on the woman he drew down on. And the judge will let him go. What a mess.

What I find shocking about this story is the lack of outrage from Christians… Have pro-lifers become less than human in the minds of people as the preborn babies have?

yes. but it is not just christians. it is people in general. culturally we see ourselves as smart animals, and in many cases, we exclude even that distinction.

One can only imagine the outrage if the pro-lifers had pulled a loaded gun on the baby-butcherer!

My bet is that he will claim that he showed the gun as a warning in self-defense to preclude anyone from threatening him. There recently was a case where a clinic had been shut down because the owner had been shot by a “pro-lifer” and could only re-open by having doctors come in from out of town.
Unfortunately, that will most likely get the charges to be dropped, since the gun was never actually discharged.

Michael,
Abortions are NOT legal, and can never be made legal.  Why?  Because abortion is murder and murder can never be made legal.  We have been duped!!  We think that abortion has been made legal by Roe v. Wade, which is a court OPINION, not a legislative act.  Courts don’t make law.  And even if Congress did make a “law” saying that abortion is legal, that still doesn’t make it so.  Why?  Because God is the source of law, and He says “Thou shalt not murder”.  So what should we do about abortion on demand?  Please see our website at www.IgnoreRoe.com for a truly pro-life strategy.  And if anyone thinks that it is not possible to find Godly men who would, upon being elected to office, end abortion in this way, I refer you to Michael Peroutka’s 2004 campaign for President, and Bobby Franklin, District 43’s Representative to the Georgia House.  We need to educate ourselves concerning God’s Law first, and then the U.S. Constitution, and then invoke the doctrine of interposition that says that, if a “law” violates God’s Law, it is NO LAW at all.
Vickie

Vickie,

I think you missed the sarcasm. But in point of clarification, they are leagal by decree, not by proper moral derivation. The rest of what you are saying is right on. Just because someone “makes it legal” doesn’t make it legitimate. I think it is refered to as the color of law, or something like that.

@michael konieczny

Abortion is NOT, has never been, never will be “legal”  because the child in the womb is a person.  The same way we have God given right to defend ourselves, we also have the God given right to defend our brothers and sisters.

Abortion maybe permitted by some, but there is nothing they can ever do to make murder of persons legal.  We have to fight laws that disregard truth.

Sorry Vickie, I jumped the gun and made my post before reading yours.  We must be friends!

If you are on facebook please look for the group called “Abortion (killing persons in the womb) is NOT legal”

I believe we are friends, and i think we are on the same page too. :) A good read, Hadly Arkes, First Things, an iquiry into the first principles of morals and justice. A law that is not morally justified is not reasonable or just. You would be interested in a group called The Fully Informed Jury Association. And a legel process called jury nulification. i was kicked off a grand jury by the judge for exercising this right.

As many pro-lifers will tell you the REAL solution is to have a constitutional amendment protecting all human beings including the unborn.

LRoy,
I don’t agree about a constitutional amendment.  We should NOT try to define what God has already defined.  Our Lord is clear that we are fearfully and wonderfully made from conception, and even before.  Attempting to define what a person is will open up a can of worms that will allow re-defining in the future.  What if someone decides that we should define apes as persons (I believe there is a movement for this in either Australia or New Zeeland.)  What we need to do is elect civil magistrates who will ignore an unGodly, unconstitutional court opinion and prosecute abortionists for murder.  Interposition!  Please see www.IgnoreRoe.com.

I just joined the above mentioned facebook (Abortion is NOT legal).  I don’t have time to read through it yet, but I certainly will soon.

I agree with vickie. the push to make laws to coerse the behavior of the nation is back wards. That is, in many respects, what is being done against us with the color of law. ie, arbitrary rules established by the state. The amendments to the constitution that we already have, that are supposed to be the law of the land, are ignored and run over with the other rules. First amendment, restricted and perverted, and subverted. Second amendment, we have over 20k gun restriction laws. We can go through the whole list. What is on paper doesn’t matter. The real recoarse is what vickie is talking about. Over rule the law. You can do this by not having an abortion, by helping some else to avoid exercising this murder made leagal under color of law, and by jury nulification. www.fija.org
This is the fully informed jury association.
But again, the jury system has also been perverted to prevent it from being used against the power of the state.

According to Scripture the first duty of civil government is to protect the innocent. I also agree with Vickie that prenatal child-killing is murder according to God’s Law.  But America’s laws do not hardly resemble God’s Law in this day and age, so we need something “simple” to protect all people (handicapped, infirm, elderly and unwanted preborn babies) such as Personhood Amendments. May God unite His people in this battle or millions more will die and some of the blood will be on our hands.

Angela, I understand what you are saying, but if you look at all the laws we already have, and you see that they are not adheared too, you have to realize that the laws, the words on paper, do nothing without a population that already commits itself to the principles the law embodies. To your point about a law, we already have it. It is in the declaration of independence and the bill of rights states what was understood to be obvious. the issue here is that a class of people are being denied that protection. pass another law, but more words on paper without the words on the hearts of all the people, or at least a moral majority, and it won’t matter. for a good example, ask obama for his birth certificate. he was born in kenya. all the evidence show he is not a citizen. the law states clearly, natural born. if this law, as clear as it is, can be ingnored, what makes you think you can pass another to protect the unborn? or the jew, or the native american, or the black, or the old. or the cripple? we don’t even hold the president or the parties who support OR OPPOSE him to follow a simple procedural law.

His behavior was obviously unacceptable, but pales in comparison to the number of people who have actually squeezed the trigger & killed in the name of their theology which isn’t held by many others in our secular democracy. I still remember the appalling disrespect for the lives of thousands of homosexual men during the early years of the AIDS epidemic, by conservative Christians of all stripes.
