Parents Make Better Bosses

A new study shows that workplace managers who have children are happier and more productive on the job than their non-parent counterparts. Specifically, dads and moms are better able to handle workplace stress, resolve conflicts and juggle competing priorities. Laura Graves of Clark University, co-author of the study, says the demands of children and a busy household don’t add to workplace stress but, rather, help managers deal with it. And family experiences, she says, “help managers develop the ability to see others’ views.”
