Actress Patricia Heaton is a Courageous Voice for the Unborn

Once again, Patricia Heaton is under fire for her pro-life convictions. Last week she tweeted a pro-life message, supporting a crisis pregnancy center and maternity home in Washington D.C.

That tweet alone ushered in an onslaught of negative tweets. However, that didn’t slow her down. A few days after her pro-life tweet, she expressed her support of the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Heaton didn’t back down under pressure and went at great lengths to respond to some of the negative criticism. When questioned if she really supported women, especially those who have no health care, are homeless and without money, Heaton responded:

When speaking with TheBlaze a few years ago, Heaton explained why she is so staunchly pro-life.

“It just bothers me so much. It’s almost a natural — it’s almost a reflex now…Once you have kids and you know what it feels like to be pregnant and you know what it feels like to have that person growing inside of you, and the beauty of it, it’s just not a holistic thing to do.”

She also admitted that her views on abortion are not well received by those in Hollywood, saying, “In the Hollywood community, I’m the only one I know who says anything about it. I feel like I’m supposed to.”

Heaton grew up in a Catholic household and though her faith has wavered over the years, she still considers herself Catholic. One of her sisters is a fully professed Dominican nun with the the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation in Nashville.

Patricia Heaton is a rare find in Hollywood and she deserves support from the pro-life community. Too many actors and actresses cripple under fire and much of that has to do with the lack of support from other people. I encourage you to write, tweet, or find some way to support this actress, who is trying to be a voice for the voiceless and truly support women.
