Actor Opens Pro-Life Medical Center
Catholic Actor Eduardo Verastegui Founds Los Angeles Center
Many are familiar with actor Eduardo Verastegui’s story of conversion, and the success of his film “Bella” on both the material and spiritual level. To date, the film has helped to save the lives of more than 100 babies and their mothers. Now, Verastegui is further putting his money where his faith is, by opening a new pro-life women’s medical center in Los Angeles.
The center, Manto de Guadalupe, was founded by Verastegui. This coming Sunday, the center is hosting a one-day Spanish-language celebrity benefit and concert to raise funds for Manto de Guadalupe. Called Unidos Por La Vida (United for Life), the event will feature Verastegui, Karyme Lozano, Manuel Capetillo, Emmanuel and Alejandro Acha, Gilberto Gless. Priests Father Juan Rivas and Father Mariano de Blas will also be present. Abby Johnson, the former Planned Parenthood director who left her job and became pro-life, will also be speaking.
“My hope is that Guadalupe Medical Center will reach and help many women, children and families,” said Verastegui. “It will be an oasis of life for those most in need.”
The one-day mega conference and concert will take place Sunday, May 23 from 8 a.m.- 7 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center, South Hall, located at 1201 S. Figueroa. To view the flyer or purchase tickets, visit www.MantodeGuadalupe.org
