A May survey of mothers by Hallmark magazine shows that, protests of meddling notwithstanding, moms try to mother like their own moms. Forty-six percent of respondents admitted that they often find themselves parenting “just like my mother did.” Just over half said they have asked their mothers for parenting advice, and the same number never felt their mother was interfering. Some 26% flattered their moms by saying they wish they could be more like them. And a deeply grateful few — 13% — said it was simply impossible to be as good at mothering as their own moms.
