Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

ABC Erik and Vicki Swenson-Lee of Minnetonka, Minn., parents of four, have taken in the four orphaned children of Vicki’s murdered sister Teri. Now they receive a home large enough for all the kids, built by the makeover crew and volunteers, including eight families who previously received new homes on the show. A re-air from 2007.

Spectacled Bears:

Shadows of the Forest

ANIMAL PLANET This one-hour episode of the Natural World series goes to the Andes to observe spectacled bears, which have black fur and beige facial and chest markings. The bears are mostly vegetarian but have been attacking cattle lately.


MONDAY, 9 p.m.

The Lost Pyramid

HISTORY This two-hour documentary follows archaeologists to Egypt as they explore what they believe is a lost fourth pyramid of Giza that was the tallest of all and built by the Pharaoh Radjedef, or Djedefre, around 2447-2439 B.C.


WEDNESDAY, 9 p.m.

Nova ScienceNow

PBS Series host Neil deGrasse Tyson, an astrophysicist, investigates dark matter, memory loss in mice and other topics. Season premiere.

Hallmark Heroes With Regis Philbin

Shows for the Pauline Year

EWTN Pope Benedict XVI has inaugurated a Pauline Year to celebrate the 2,000th anniversary of the birth of St. Paul. At 10 a.m., see Adventures of the Apostle Paul, a children’s animated story. At 11:30 a.m., live (re-air 4:30 p.m.), the Pope leads Vespers for the Start of the Pauline Year from the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.

The Big Lift

FAMILYLAND TV George Seaton wrote and directed this 1950 drama-cum-documentary about the 11-month Berlin Airlift of 1948-1949, when the U.S. Air Force and the British Royal Air Force countered a Soviet road and rail blockade of the 2 million-plus residents of West Berlin by mounting a ’round-the-clock airlift of food and coal into two Berlin airports. Montgomery Clift, Paul Douglas, Cornell Borchers and Bruni Lobel star.
