Air Group 16:

We Came to Remember

PBS This half-hour documentary joins veterans of Air Group 16, who served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington in World War II, as they hold their final reunion and attend the dedication of the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., in May 2004. Archival film and interviews augment the story as these former pilots, gunners and radio men recount battles and salute their fallen comrades. A re-air from 2007.

Will You Be Left Behind?

EWTN At 3 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday, this five-part series by Thomas Curran and Carl Olson explains Catholic teaching on Christ’s second coming, refutes the versions of the “Rapture” notion, debunks pre-millennial dispensationalism, warns against Protestant Bible misinterpretations and supplies Catholic teaching about Israel. A re-air.

Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game

FOX The 79th All-Star Game will take place in Yankee Stadium, the hallowed House That (Babe) Ruth Built, which is in its final season before giving way to a new stadium next year. A Red Carpet Parade of all-time great Yankee and other ballplayers and of this year’s American League and National League All-Star teams will precede the game, as will a salute to Hall of Fame players and historic Yankee Stadium itself.


TUESDAY, 8 p.m.

The Universe: the Milky Way

HISTORY The galaxy we call the Milky Way is 100,000 light years wide and is home to planet Earth and our sun and moon. This Universe episode uses photos and illustrations to track the Milky Way’s stars and other phenomena. Advisory: TV-PG.
