Family Rosary With Sacred Scripture

FAMILYLAND TV “The power of the Rosary is beyond description,” wrote Archbishop Fulton Sheen, and well he knew the truth of that. Pray along with this TV Rosary and meditate on the mysteries with the help of God’s Word. Also airs 7:30 p.m. except Wednesday.

History’s Lost & Found

Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality

EWTN This four-part series explains The Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality: Guidelines for Education within the Family, a document issued Dec. 8, 1995, by the Pontifical Council for the Family that reminds us that God has made parents the primary educators of their children. Thomas Lickona provides an overview, Father Timothy Gallagher discusses youth, Father Thomas Ward analyzes attacks on the family and Father Charles Connor explores “issues of practical concern.”


FRIDAY, 2 p.m.

Open to Life

EWTN Pope Paul VI issued his profound and prophetic encyclical letter Humanae Vitae (The Regulation of Birth) 40 years ago this July 25. In this show, Father Andrew Cox of the Archdiocese of Capetown, South Africa, defends the Catholic doctrine of opposition to artificial contraception and openness to bringing new souls into the world.


SATURDAY, 12:30 p.m.

The Victory Garden: Tough

PBS In this new episode, host Jamie Durie promotes plants that weather virtually all conditions, Paul Epsom visits an urban garden group in Philadelphia, Sissy Biggers and Michel Nischan discuss root cellars and Nischan makes a root vegetable casserole.


SATURDAY, 1:30 p.m., live

Walk for Life West Coast

EWTN “Women are being hurt every day by the abortions that take their babies’ lives,” notes Dolores Meehan, co-founder of the Walk for Life West Coast along San Francisco’s waterfront. More than 20,000 pro-lifers, many of them students, marched last year. Speakers this year will include activists such as Alveda King, Rev. Clenard Childress Jr., and saline-abortion survivor Gianna Jessen.
