EWTN “The power idea which must animate us is the thought of souls,” Venerable Mother Thecla Merlo (1894-1964) told her Daughters of St. Paul sisters. She and Blessed Father James Alberione (1884-1971) co-founded that order in 1915 to spread the Gospel worldwide through print, film and the mass media. Said Mother Thecla, “Our congregation will always be young, because it will make use of every new means to do good.”
