SUNDAY, 8 p.m.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

ABC Army Spc. Patrick Tutwiler incurred traumatic brain injury when a sniper in Iraq shot him. Once he was back with his wife, Crystal, and their four kids in Chapman, Kan., a tornado destroyed their home. Now, the makeover team and local volunteers build the Tutwilers and their nephew a beautiful new home. Advisory: TV-PG.


SUNDAY, 10:30 p.m.

Hound of Heaven

EWTN In this Family Theater telling of a poem by English Catholic poet Francis Thompson (1859-1907), God lovingly pursues a man who “fled him, down the arches of the years,” until the man at last heeds God’s words, “Naught shelters thee, who will not shelter Me,” and realizes that, as God tells him, “Ah, fondest, blindest, weakest, I am he whom thou seekest.” Re-airs 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 a.m. Friday.


MONDAY, 11 p.m.

Ancient Discoveries

HISTORY This episode focuses on the heavy machinery that ancient engineers in Greece and elsewhere devised to haul huge stones. Advisory: TV-PG.


TUESDAY, 8 p.m.

Nova: The Incredible Journey Of the Butterflies

PBS This documentary charts the 2,000-mile journey that 100 million monarch butterflies make every year from southern Canada and the upper Midwest to the mountains of Mexico. Helicopters, ultralight aircraft and hot air balloons follow the butterflies.


WEDNESDAYS, 7 p.m.

Living Eucharist

FAMILYLAND TV “The Eucharist is that love which surpasses all loves in heaven and on earth,” said St. Bernard, and St. Francis of Assisi said, “Man should tremble, the world should vibrate, all heaven should be deeply moved when the Son of God appears on the altar in the hands of the priest.” Episode 5 of nine in this series.


THURSDAY, 8 p.m.

How Stuff Works

DISCOVERY CHANNEL This 60-minute show surveys many of the 14,000 uses (so far) of salt, a mineral used since ancient times.


FRIDAY, 7 a.m.

Godspeed to Jamestown

HISTORY This show follows the 18-month construction and launching of a full-size replica of the Godspeed, which along with the ships Susan Constant and Discovery, carried English settlers to Jamestown, Va., in 1607. The replica took part in the Jamestown 400th anniversary observances. Advisory: TV-PG.


SATURDAY, 8 p.m.

AKC/Eukanuba National Championship

ANIMAL PLANET Held in Long Beach, Calif., this past Dec. 13-14, this biggest U.S. dog show featured nearly 3,000 canines competing for “best in show” and other titles.
