SUNDAY, 8 p.m.

Nature: The Queen of Trees

PBS This study of southern Kenya’s large sycomore fig tree puts the wonders of God’s creation in full view. The sycomore is the center of an intricate ecosystem in which tiny fig wasps must help the tree pollinate and reproduce, ants defend the tree and both bugs and birds of many kinds are nourished by it.


MONDAY, 11 a.m.

March for Life

EWTN Four hours of live coverage of the 34th annual March for Life in our nation’s capital bring us the pre-march rally and speeches on the mall, pro-life panel discussions and the always 100,000-plus throng’s march along Constitution Avenue to Capitol Hill for prayers at the Supreme Court and pro-life lobbying in Congress. Re-airs at 10 p.m. tonight, 9 a.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. Saturday.


MONDAY, 5 p.m.

Walk for Life West Coast

EWTN This 90-minute re-air of last Saturday’s third annual Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco presents the pre-event rally and speeches at a Market Street plaza, interviews with pro-lifers and the marchers as they head along the Embarcadero and finish at Marina Greens. Re-airs Thursday at 11 p.m.

On Human Life

Familyland TV Cardinal John O’Connor (1920-2000) of New York City, who inspired the founding of the Sisters of Life and gave Father Frank Pavone permission to start Priests for Life, delivers a powerful and profound 90-minute talk on the sanctity of human life.


TUESDAY, 9 p.m.

Ancient Discoveries:       Siege of Troy

History Channel The heroes of Homer’s Iliad come alive for us as on-site filming, interviews with historians and well-staged reenactments help search for insights into Troy’s location, the combat between Achilles and Hector, the nature of the Mycenaean fleet and the size of the Greeks’ wooden horse. Re-airs Saturday at 10 p.m.


THURSDAY, 8 p.m., live

Life on the Rock

EWTN Franciscan Fathers Francis Mary and Mark Mary attended last Saturday’s Walk for Life West Coast in San Francisco and met many enthusiastic young pro-lifers. Here is their report on why and how the pro-life movement is becoming younger and is not going away.
