EWTN On EWTN Live at 8pm, Richard and Stephen Payne describe their new 60-minute docudrama about the far-left Alinsky (1909-1972), who wrote the book Rules for Radicals and founded the Industrial Areas Foundation. At 10pm the show, A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing: The Disguised Socialism of Saul Alinsky, profiles this organizer, whose strategies inspired a young Hillary Rodham and Barack Obama and still influence society today, including the Church. Re-airs 6pm Saturday.

At 6am Friday, Padre Pio’s San Giovanni: I Can Refuse No One tells of St. Pio’s life and miracles. At 2:30pm, in Padre Pio’s Way of the Cross, Capuchin Father Alessio Parente leads the Stations of the Cross at San Giovanni Rotondo, using Padre Pio’s meditations.

Great Performances: Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert 2016

PBS Semyon Bychkov leads an open-air concert recorded in May in the gardens of the Imperial Schönbrunn Palace. Pianists Katia and Marielle Labèque guest as the orchestra performs Bizet, Poulenc, Ravel, Offenbach and Johann Strauss II.

Pope Francis in Georgia and Azerbaijan

EWTN In Tbilisi on Friday, the Holy Father will visit Georgia’s president, meet officials, visit Patriarch Elias II of the Orthodox Church in Georgia and greet Assyrian Chaldeans. On Saturday, the Pope will celebrate Mass in Tbilisi, visit priests and religious, meet charity workers and those they serve and go to Mskheta, birthplace of Christianity in Georgia. On Sunday, the Pope will fly to Baku, Azerbaijan, to celebrate Mass and lunch with Salesians, attend a welcome ceremony, meet officials, visit the sheikh of the Muslims of the Caucasus, the Orthodox bishop of Baku and the head of the Jewish community and fly home.
