New Fall Season Series

EWTN In Beloved, at 4:30pm Sundays and 3:30am Mondays, Catholic married couples discuss matrimony. Bishop Barron Presents airs at 11pm Fridays. In Decision Point, at 5:30pm Thursdays and 3am Saturdays, Matthew Kelly explains confirmation and asks young Catholics to follow God’s plan for their lives. Also ahead: a drama about St. Philip Neri (1515-1595); a docudrama about the Inquisition; documentaries that highlight the heroic courage of Vietnam War chaplain Father Vincent Capodanno and expose community organizer Saul Alinsky and the evil of euthanasia; a travel guide by Father Charles Connor; and children’s shows about the Mass and First Saturdays.

Mother Teresa

EWTN At 3am Sunday, Mother Teresa: Sharing the Sufferings of Christ inquires into Mother’s interior loneliness. At 4am, live, Pope Francis will celebrate the Mass of Canonization (re-airs noon). At 1am Monday is the documentary No Greater Love: Mother Teresa of Calcutta. At 3:30am, from Rome, is the Mass of Thanksgiving for St. Teresa of Calcutta (re-airs noon). Challenge and Change — Encounters With Mother Teresa: Her Spiritual Depth and Year of the Family airs at 6:30pm Monday (Part 1) and 5pm Tuesday (Part 2). Check EWTN.com for any airing changes.

Father Capodanno

EWTN At 6:30pm, Archbishop Timothy Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA will celebrate the annual Mass for the Servant of God Father Vincent Capodanno, a Navy chaplain who was awarded the Medal of Honor after he died in combat while ministering to wounded Marines on Sept. 4, 1967. At 1:30am, the documentary The Grunt Padre in Vietnam portrays Father Capodanno’s life (Advisory: TV-PG).

Blessed Benedict Daswa

EWTN On Feb. 2, 1990, in Mbahe, Limpopo, South Africa, Blessed Benedict (b. 1946), a convert, was martyred by anti-Catholics for opposing their killings of suspected “witches.” At 3am Sept. 6, Tshimangadzo: The Story of Benedict Daswa tells his story.
