The Story of Knock

In the evening of Aug. 21, 1879, the Queen of Heaven, St. Joseph and St. John the Evangelist appeared outside the parish church in Knock, County Mayo, Ireland.  Beside them were angels and an altar with a lamb and a cross. Fifteen residents of this oppressed area hard hit by forcible evictions and famine witnessed the apparition, and their testimony was judged trustworthy later in 1879 and also in 1936.
