EWTN Blessed Zdenka Cecília Schelingová (1916-1955) was a Slovak nursing sister in the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Holy Cross. At a hospital in Bratislava in 1952, when Czechoslovakia was under Soviet communist rule, she saved a priest-patient from being sent to Siberia, but was soon caught trying to help others. The secret police tortured her for three years. In April 1955, they released her; and she died on July 31. Re-airs at 11pm Saturday. Advisory: TV-PG.
