The Journey Home

EWTN Marcus Grodi’s guest is Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson, a former Episcopalian bishop. He is now the ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter, through which the Church welcomes Anglicans who wish to convert. Re-airing 1am Feb. 26 and 1pm March 1.

TUESDAY, Feb. 26, 10am

How the Earth Was Made

HISTORY Starting at 10am, seven episodes discuss "America’s Ice Age," "Driest Place on Earth," "Death Valley," "The Alps," "Great Lakes," "Everest" and the "Deepest Place on Earth." Following at 5pm is a calculation of our planet’s material assets, "What’s the Earth Worth?" Advisory: TV-PG.

THURSDAY, Feb. 28, 10pm

Life on the Rock

EWTN Father Mark Mary and Doug Barry welcome Andreas Widmer, a former Swiss Guard in Vatican City. The Pontifical Swiss Guard dates from 1506, when Pope Julius II hired a Swiss corps to guard the Vatican. Recruits today are Catholic, single Swiss men, ages 19-30, who have undergone Swiss military basic training. Re-airing 8pm March 1; 1am March 2 and 9am March 5.

EWTN  In The Acts of God at 3:30am Wednesdays (starting March 6) and 1pm Saturdays, Scripture scholar Frances Hogan meditates on the Acts of the Apostles. In Door of Faith at 4:30pm Sundays (starting March 3), Dominican Father Bede McGregor answers questions about the faith. In The Faith With Father Maurice at 10:30am Sundays (starting March 3), Father Maurice Emelu discusses challenges to the faith, especially in Africa. The New Evangelization at 5:30pm Sundays (starting March 3) features Scott Hahn, Michael Hernon and Ralph Martin. Father Charles Connor presents The Thought of Pope Benedict XVI at 11pm Tuesdays (starting March 5). In Remembering Jesus at 11pm Mondays (starting March 4), Father Roger Landry and neurologist Vincent Fortanasce offer Catholic and medical advice on keeping your brain healthy. In Wisdom From Above at 3am Sundays (starting March 3) and 6:30pm Saturdays, Deacon Alex Jones studies the Letter of St. James.

ANIMAL PLANET Various cuddly kittens are featured in their first days and weeks of life, as they explore the world around them.

Great Performances: Andrea Bocelli: Love in Portofino

PBS This two-hour premiere concert special from the harborside in Portofino, Italy, features tenor Andrea Bocelli singing various love songs. Singers Caroline Campbell, Helene Fischer and Brazil’s Sandy accompany him, as does trumpeter Chris Botti.

Daniel O’Donnell From the Heartland

PBS In this 90-minute show, Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell performs pop and religious favorites.

SATURDAY, March 9, 4pm

Web of Faith 2.0

EWTN  Father Kenneth Brighenti of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md., and Father John Trigilio of the Diocese of Harrisburg, Pa., and the Confraternity of Catholic Clergy explore the benefits of the new translation of the Mass.
