The Mark of Zorro

TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES This 1940 drama, directed by Rouben Mamoulian and starring Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell and Basil Rathbone, features a classic swordfight and offers a friendly view of California’s Spanish mission padres. A-II and TV-G.

A Time to Rebuild

EWTN Jesuit Father Mitch Pacwa discusses the restoration of the Jesuits’ Nowy Cacz school, which helped the Polish people preserve the faith under persecution. TV-G.

Demographic Bomb: Demography Is Destiny

EWTN This 2009 sequel to the 2008 documentary Demographic Winter explores the history of population control, refutes the myth of "overpopulation," charges anti-lifers with violating human rights and demonstrates the disastrous effects of falling birth rates.

Columbia: Mission of Hope

PBS This new documentary observes the anniversary of the Columbia space shuttle disaster of Feb. 1, 2003, by saluting the seven astronauts who died and by telling the story of crew member Ilan Ramon, Israel’s first astronaut, who carried with him a miniature Torah scroll that had survived the Holocaust. At 10pm, the re-airing of NOVA: Space Shuttle Disaster investigates the accident.

ANIMAL PLANET Every year, the Puppy Bowl provides an endearing parody of Super Bowl football as cute puppies in a "stadium" score "touchdowns" by romping into the "end zones." A water-bowl cam captures hilarious bowl’s-eye close-ups of slurping puppies, and a veterinarian is on hand to make sure no puppies get tuckered out. Advisory: TV-PG.

Egypt’s Christians

EWTN This documentary traces the history of Christianity in the land of the pyramids from the Holy Family’s sojourn there and on to the early Desert Fathers, relations with Muslims and the coexistence of Copts, Catholics and Protestants.

Nova: Building Pharaoh’s Chariot

PBS Archaeologists, engineers, woodworkers and horse trainers build two replicas of Egyptian royal war chariots and test-drive them. The ancient chariots’ advanced features included spoked wheels, springs, shock absorbers and roll bars.

Mother Angelica Live Classics: The Scapular and St. James
