The New President

Share
by Father Owen Kearns, LC, Register correspondent Friday, Jan 23, 2009 12:40 PM Comment

The inauguration helped remind the world how great America is: Freedom reigns, when a nation transfers power with such joy and peace.

But the adulation in many quarters of the media for the new president was disturbing, and not just because we disagree with Obama’s policies on the right to life. Americans (as, to his credit, Obama himself pointed out) owe their allegiance to the virtues that created the nation, not to any particular ruler.

Read the Register to keep an eye on the Obama administration and the issues of vital importance not just to Catholics, but to all Americans.
