Scholarship Contest

Publisher's Note

Our great, education-minded donor is back with funding for the National Catholic Register’s Second Annual Scholarship Contest. Once again, we’re looking to award good thinking, able writing and Catholic living as expressed in a concise essay. The contest is open to high-school seniors and college underclassmen.

Speaking directly to them now:

To win one of three tuition-deferring prizes, all you have to do is think hard and write well on a basic but challenging theme: How I Expect My Catholic Faith to Impact My College Career. We’ll award $1,000 to the winner, $750 to the first runner-up and $500 to the second runner-up. To enter, you must be a current subscriber to the Register or reside in a household that receives the Register. Word limit is 500 words and the entry deadline is Nov. 1. Entries must be e-mailed to [email protected].

Think of the contest as our way of saying: College education? Thousands and thousands of dollars. Authentically Catholic college education? Priceless.

Best wishes, scholarship-contest entrants — and thank you, Register scholarship donor!
