In the Mail

Some readers may have received a letter from me recently. In it, I write that America “has never needed the Register more, and the Register has never needed you more.”

The letter asks readers to imagine “Where you’d be if your only source of news and views were the mainstream media.”

For the letter, we did a search of Google News for Obama and found 833,387 items. A search for “Academy Awards” found 12,512 stories mentioning Hollywood’s self congratulations. When we searched for “March for Life,” we found only 467 mentions of the nation’s biggest and oldest continuous march on Washington.

The realities of a publication such as the Register are that we cannot meet expenses without generous readers becoming donors. Go toNCRegister.com to find ways you can help.

Fulfilling our mission in the Register depends on you. Thank you for your support!

Go to Joseph

In its colorful 160-year history, the Shrine of St. Joseph in St. Louis has been known for two miraculous events — and perhaps many other prayers answered by the patron of families.
