A new study shows that hostile spats may increase your risk of developing hardening of the arteries. “Conflicts are an unavoidable part of being in any meaningful relationship,” said Dr. Timothy Smith, one of the lead investigators in the study, “but the way we conduct them is important.” The experts’ advice for healthy arguing: Keep to the issue at hand, don’t dredge up the past and go for the point — not the person.
