In a recent survey of 15,000 new parents by Babytalk magazine, more than 60% of fathers reported that their wives give them less attention than they got before the baby was born. And, while 42% of those men say they understand this change, 44% admit to feeling jealous, sad or resentful about the re-ordered relationship. But wait. New dads aren’t so selfish or childish that they’re needier than their own babies. Many feel guilty about having the negative emotions — and a whopping 80% agree that a mom should put her child ahead of her husband, at least early on.
