The Journey Home

EWTN, 8 p.m.

Founded by Joseph Smith in New York state in 1830, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints continues to lure Catholics away from the faith. Where Did It Come From?

Ancient Rome: The Modern Stadium

History Channel, 8 p.m.

SATURDAY, OCT. 14

The Call to Fatima

EWTN, 8 p.m.

This hour-long Irish documentary, based on the late Sister Lucia’s book, “Calls” from the Message of Fatima (2000), tells the story of Fatima for Catholic youth today. It includes film of her funeral in 2005 and that of Pope John Paul II; details Our Lady’s visits to Lucia and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto in Portugal in 1917, including the miracle of the sun; relays Mary’s message of prayer and penance; and chronicles historical events She foretold, including the rise and fall of Soviet communism.
