Hail, Our Hope

Stories in
the Register detail troubling threats to life and liberty by a government that
is supposed to protect them. The hope that so energized voters last fall has,
for the majority, turned to disappointment. For many, it is turning to alarm.
There is a hope that does not
disappoint. As citizens (or residents) of a nation dedicated to the patronage
of Mary, the month of October should prompt us to renew, deepen and spread our
devotion to the one we confidently invoke as our life, our sweetness and our hope.
The Register’s Guide
to the Rosary can help here. We created this colorful, pocket-size
booklet to lead people through the Church’s most beloved Marian devotion in a
dynamic way. Along with Rosary prayers, it has Scripture readings, beautiful
art and meditative reflections for each mystery. Best of all, for me at least,
it presents Pope John Paul II’s favorite version of the Rosary — the one he
introduced in his 2002 apostolic letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae.
We’ve done our best to make it
affordable. (It costs less than $5.) If you have a Rosary group, bulk orders
make it more affordable still. To order, go to CirclePress.org or call (800)
356-9916.
Let’s spend October praying with —
and invoking the intercession of — the Blessed Virgin Mary on behalf of a
nation in need of the hope that never disappoints.
