Chaplet of Divine Mercy

CATHOLICTV Jesus told St. Faustina in the 1930s, “My heart overflows with great mercy for souls, and especially for poor sinners … [I]t is for them that the blood and water flowed from my heart as from a fount overflowing with mercy. For them I dwell in the tabernacle as King of Mercy.” Every day at 3 p.m., the Hour of Great Mercy, pray the Chaplet along with the Sisters of Divine Mercy and others via Catholic TV, which is available on Sky Angel, Comcast and others, and streaming online at CatholicTV.org.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

ABC U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Daniel Gilyeat, a father of four in Kansas City, Kan., who lost his left leg above the knee and suffered other major injuries on his second tour of duty in Iraq, receives a new, 3,000-square-foot, handicapped-accessible home complete with a flagpole and 36-inch-wide doors and hallways. SUNDAY, 8 p.m.

Nature: Cloud, Wild Stallion of the Rockies

PBS Fast becoming a perennial TV favorite, this hour-long documentary from 2001 by Ginger Kathrens chronicles the adventures of a pale white mustang in Montana from his baby days in 1995 on to learning to survive in the unforgiving Rocky Mountains, play-fighting with other colts, expulsion from his family, maturing, battling to establish his own band, capture in a government roundup and subsequent release.


MONDAY-FRIDAY, 7 a.m.

Liberty’s Kids

HISTORY This animated series puts 1770s cub reporters James and Sarah and their pals Moses and Henri in the middle of Americans’ struggle for independence from England, including Paul Revere’s Ride, the Battle of Lexington, the Green Mountain Boys’ campaigns, the Second Continental Congress and the Battle of Bunker Hill. TV-G.


WEDNESDAY, 4 p.m.

Good Morning, Jesus

EWTN In this half-hour show, pro-life Irish singer Dana (Rosemary Browne Scallon) and little children sing Catholic prayers and hymns.


FRIDAY, 10 p.m.

Great Old Amusement Parks

PBS In the good old summertime, what could be more fun for a family than visiting an old-fashioned amusement park? This Rick Sebak documentary takes us to Playland Park in Rye, N.Y., Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk in northern California, Holiday World in Santa Claus, Ind., and several more parks in Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon and Tennessee.
