This week Jeanette De Melo talks with the Register’s Rome correspondent Edward Pentin about recent Vatican news including Pope Francis’ choice of a new Vatican Secretary of State, reports about Blessed John Paul II’s canonization date and the Vatican’s reaction to the Syria crisis. In the second half of the show, Jeanette talks with Register senior editor Joan Frawley Desmond about the U.S. reaction to Syria through the use of force, despite a lack of international support and the Vatican’s appeal to non-violent response.
