Superintendent of Catholic Schools

The Diocese of Charlotte in Western North Carolina is seeking a loyal and practicing Catholic with the necessary spiritual and intellectual formation as well as academic credentials and experience to be the Superintendent of Catholic Schools. A doctorate or masters degree in education or a related field is preferable.
The candidate must be well versed in the educational documents of the Church and committed to embracing and implementing the Catholic philosophy of education expressed in them; will be strongly committed to and enthusiastic about Catholic Schools and their mission; will be a mission-driven, visionary, energetic, innovative, confident and collaborative leader who inspires cooperation and growth.
The Superintendent reports to the Vicar of Education and leads the Catholic Schools Office which serves 19 Catholic schools which are in three formats: Diocesan parish-based schools – nine; Diocesan-based high school - one; Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools (MACS) system – two high schools, one middle school, six elementary schools. The Superintendent is the Chief Operating Officer for the Mecklenburg Area Catholic School System.
The Catholic Schools Office serves, supports, and challenges the Catholics in the Diocese toward continual and planned growth in Catholic identity, academic excellence, community support and service, and financial viability.
