Pope Benedict XVI announced yesterday that scientific tests indicate that St. Paul is indeed buried in a sarcophagus beneath the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls in Rome.

Vatican Designates National Shrine in Honor of St. Paul

As the Year of St. Paul draws to a close, the Vatican has designated the Cathedral of St. Paul, in St. Paul, Minn., as the nation’s first national shrine in honor of the apostle Paul.

Pope Benedict XVI held his weekly general audience at St. Peter’s Square in Rome for the first time since July.
The Pope returned this week to the Vatican from his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo outside of Rome.
In his weekly catechesis delivered at today’s general audience at St. Peter’s, the Holy Father continued his discussion of the words and actions of St. Paul.
