Hillary Clinton, on her first visit to the Philippines as U.S. secretary of state, said she wants to “empower” women to make choices that will be good for themselves, their families and society.

Lots of “thought experiments” have ended up in good things for humanity, but many have been disastrous.

If you follow the logic of some scientists and environmentalists, the answer to that question appears to be a resounding “yes.”
