Obama told his Muslim audience: “[W]e must say openly to each other the things we hold in our hearts and that too often are said only behind closed doors.”

Hmmm … here are three things he didn’t seem to want to say openly in Cairo:

He didn’t praise doubt, or promote LGBT, or read the Koran’s other verses.

1. He didn’t praise doubt.

Specifically, he didn’t say this (I’ve added... READ MORE

Obama: USA Transgender Pride

Yesterday, President Obama did something radical: He proclaimed June “LGBT Pride” month.

This doesn’t just mean “tolerance for homosexuals month.” The T stands for “transgender.” The movement is clear that it wants men to be able to use women’s bathrooms, among other craziness. (See?)

The White House buried the news, and the media helped. But Obama said he wants to mainstream that... READ MORE

Cardinal Bernardin in 1994 (Reuters/Scott Olson)

At Notre Dame, Obama referred to Cardinal Joseph Bernardin.

“That must have had Cardinal Bernardin turning over in his grave,” writes Elizabeth Lev.

Then, she finds an extraordinary quote from the cardinal himself ... and in the Register, no less.

Obama “cleverly backed up his pro-choice arguments by quoting the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin’s ‘seamless garment’ project,” wrote Lev, “which... READ MORE

Gian Maria Vian, editor of L’Osservatore Romano, commented to the Register about the controversy (detailed here) surrounding the paper’s coverage of President Obama.

Is L’Osservatore Romano in agreement with those bishops of the United States who were opposed to Obama being honored by the University of Notre Dame?

L’Osservatore Romano always stands by different episcopates, and on this... READ MORE

Dr. Obama Dashes Dialogue at ND: Cites Irreconcilable Differences

A Register column
by Bishop Robert W. Finn
Of Kansas City-St. Joseph, Mo.

I tuned into the May 17 Notre Dame graduation for the obvious reasons. I was particularly interested in this cultural watershed that united scores of American bishops and countless others who could not fathom why President Barack Obama should be granted... READ MORE

Sunday was a frustrating day for pro-lifers. As Father John Jenkins, president of Notre Dame, and Barack Obama, president of the United States, spoke, pro-lifers felt the urge to argue with what was being said. But there was no opportunity to argue.

Said Father Jenkins: “We honor all people of goodwill who have come to this discussion respectfully and out of deeply held conviction.”

What... READ MORE

Obama said yesterday:

“It is the grimmest of ironies that one of the most savage, barbaric acts of evil in history began in one of the most modernized societies of its time, where so many markers of human progress became tools of human depravity: science that can heal, used to kill; education that can enlighten, used to rationalize away basic moral impulses; the bureaucracy...
