Rome Reports has released this short video encapsulating the reasons why a new English translation of the Roman Missal is being prepared.

The U.S. bishops will have to poll members missing from their meeting in San Antonio before it’s known whether they are approving liturgical prayers, special Masses and key sections of an English translation of the order of the Mass.

The U.S. bishops have voted to approve a new English translation of some of the prayers used in the Mass.

The bishops voted 189-30 today at their fall meeting in Baltimore in favor of a translation of the Proper of the Seasons, the proper prayers for Sundays and feast days throughout the liturgical year.

The U.S. bishops will reconsider approval of the new English translation of the Proper of Seasons prayers from the Roman Missal.
