Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean is featured in this new video released today by the National Organization of Marriage.

One of the most upside-down aspects of the media-generated controversy over the California beauty queen’s pro-traditional marriage comments at the Miss USA pageant is that pageant organizers are blaming her for allegedly taking a “polarizing” position on the marriage... READ MORE

This video is part of the National Organization for Marriage’s new “Gathering Storm” media campaign.

It’s especially timely today, as state legislators in Connecticut may vote today on legislation to codify same-sex “marriage” in that state.

Last weekend, as CNS reports here, Connecticut’s bishops used weekend Masses to urge parishioners to fight the proposed legislation.

The above video shows Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean giving the marriage-affirming answer that likely cost her the Miss USA crown last weekend.

Prejean’s defense of the institution of marriage — and the nasty post-pageant reaction to her comments by the homosexual Hollywood gossip blogger and Miss USA pageant judge who posed the question about her views on same-sex “marriage” —  has... READ MORE

Recent events in Iowa, Vermont and New York highlight why it’s necessary to amend the U.S. Constitution to define marriage as a one-man, one-woman institution.

As Jennifer Roback Morse pointed out in her excellent article for the Register (published yesterday here on the Daily Blog), homosexual activists are employing a divide-and-conquer strategy to implement their same-sex “marriage”... READ MORE

In one of his first actions as the archbishop of New York, Archbishop Timothy Dolan has joined with the state’s other bishops in opposing a state bill that would legalize same-sex “marriage.”

The bill was introduced today by New York Gov. David Paterson.

The following is the text of an April 16 statement opposing the bill, released by the New York State Catholic Conference:

How Marriage Lost in Iowa

By Jennifer Roback Morse, Ph.D.
From an upcoming issue of the National Catholic Register.

By now, everyone knows that the Supreme Court of Iowa has imposed same-sex “marriage” on the heartland of America, a mere 10 years after the people of that state had expressly voted against it. What very few people know is exactly how unfair this fight really was. Not only was... READ MORE

Iowa Supreme Court building. (Google Earth)

The Iowa Supreme Court today has ruled that a state law prohibiting so-called homosexual “marriage” is unconstitutional.

In so doing, the court joined its counterparts in Massachusetts, California and Connecticut in trying to force this bogus definition of “marriage” on its state’s residents by judicial fiat.

This is frustrating and disheartening for the majority of Americans who... READ MORE
