Post-inauguration tidying up today on the Mall in Washington, D.C.
Register Executive Editor Tom Hoopes is blogging live from today’s March for Life in Washington, D.C.
As pro-life marchers fill the Mall, clean-up continues for that other event here this week — the inauguration of Barack Obama.
It made me wonder: What do today’s marchers think of Tuesday’s crowd?
I was surprised at the good will I found.
I spoke with Gary Sarnoff of Arlington, Va.... READ MORE

The Catholic Information Center is an oasis of faith a few blocks from the White House.
We gathered at the center, which is operated by Opus Dei, to regroup before heading to the Mall.
The kids were dazzled by all the Catholic goodies for sale at the center’s store — everything from... READ MORE

Joe Biden can win a lot of money if Austin Ruse is wrong.
We just got back from a breakfast with the pro-life ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Conn.

Will President Barack Obama take any official notice of today’s March for Life in Washington, D.C.?
Given the new president’s consistent record of strong support for legal abortion, it seems unlikely he will take the opportunity to reach out to the pro-lifers who are marching on the 36th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision that made it legal in 1973.

EWTN’s live feed comes to the Daily Blog this afternoon so that all is ready for you to watch the Washington, D.C., March for Life here starting tomorrow.
Hoopeses are getting ready for the March, too. The kids found our “shoe sign” from Marches past and e-mailed this picture of it. We meet our bus tonight at 11 pm, for the under-24-hour marathon trip. I hope to blog from the event.

It’s now January, and for pro-lifers that means one thing: Preparations are in full swing for America’s annual Marches for Life.
Out in San Francisco, Walk for Life West Coast has introduced a new, high-profile approach to getting the pro-life message out in advance of the Jan. 24 San Francisco Walk for Life.
A 20-foot-by-60-foot “Abortion Hurts Women” billboard is now on display near... READ MORE

Here’s Gandalf with an alternate take on the election results, as regards the right-to-life battle.
Now, hear me out. Obama’s our leader. He’s not Sauron. He’s not even the steward Denethor, exactly. But what Pope John Paul II called the culture of death is on the rise. And we who promote the culture of life may look out on the bleak landscape and say “All is lost.”
Assisted suicide won in... READ MORE
