That’s how Pope Benedict’s Mass yesterday in Amman, Jordan, was described in recognition of the various traditions that contributed to the liturgy.
Yesterday was the Pope’s final full day in Jordan, before he traveled today to Israel on the next state of his Holy Land visit.

Our “task is the challenge to cultivate for the good, in the context of faith and truth, the vast potential of human reason,” Pope Benedict XVI said at a Jordanian mosque today, revisiting his Regensberg subject. “This understanding of reason,” he added, “contains a sense of both hope and caution ....”
