Hoopes kids on the March.
Register Executive Editor Tom Hoopes is blogging live from today’s March for Life in Washington, D.C.
Joe Biden can win a lot of money if Austin Ruse is wrong.
We just got back from a breakfast with the pro-life ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford, Conn.
It featured Austin Ruse, the president of the Catholic Family & Human Rights Institute (C-FAM), speaking about the outlook for United... READ MORE

Vice President Joe Biden appears determined to draw renewed attention to the issue of reception of Communion by Catholic politicians who support legal abortion.
And make no mistake: Biden has a long history of voting in favor of pro-abortion legislation.
On Sunday, Biden reportedly attended Mass at a parish in Washington and received Communion. He did so, even though he continues to support... READ MORE

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito and Vice President-elect Joe Biden are both Catholics, but that’s just about all that they have in common.
Biden was one of the U.S. Senators who most strongly opposed Alito’s nomination to the Supreme Court in 20005, primarily because Biden and other liberal Senate Democrats worried that Alito’s solid Catholic faith meant he would oppose abortion rights... READ MORE

The sign of peace isn't the problem. (UPI)
Some Catholic blogs are reporting that last Sunday, Vice President-elect Joe Biden received Communion while attending Mass in Tallahassee, Fla.
In response to the incident, Bishop John Ricard of Pensecola-Tallahassee, Fla., has posted a letter to Biden — written in a spirit of “urgency” — on his diocese’s website.

Since being named as Barack Obama’s running mate in August, Sen. Joe Biden has earned an unusual — and unenviable — distinction for a Catholic politician.
In early September, the Delaware Democrat was publicly corrected by the U.S. bishops for comprehensively misrepresenting Church teaching on abortion during an appearance on Meet the Press.
Now, Biden’s own bishop has rebuked him... READ MORE

Courting the homosexual vote. (Ellen DeGeneres Show)
Democratic vice-presidential presidential candidate Joe Biden declared last year, “One of my avocations is theology.”
But as with the issue of abortion, the Catholic politician is earning failing grades regarding his comprehension of Church teachings about the nature of marriage.
Appearing Oct. 20 on lesbian comedienne Ellen DeGeneres’s talk show, Biden said “that if I lived in California,... READ MORE

Last night’s vice-presidential debate between Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and U.S. Sen. Joe Biden contained little discussion of religion, or of life issues.
But, as Catholic blogger and Register correspondent Sheila Liaugminas notes, Democratic candidate Biden did hit the pro-abortion button in his closing remarks.
Asked to identify an issue where he had revised his beliefs, Biden cited his... READ MORE
