On Monday, Pope Benedict XVI wrote to British Prime Minister Gordon Brown about the upcoming G-20 economic summit in London.
His message: Place the poorest of the poor at the very center of this week’s discussions by world leaders about the global financial crisis.

A Catholic British Royal Family?

The U.K.’s Guardian newspaper has reported that British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is committed to ending the country’s current royal ban on Catholics.
Brown said today he will address the “anomaly,” first enshrined in the 1701 Act of Settlement, that legally banned Catholics from marrying into the British royal family.
