Logo of the state website.

The fix is on. “A year from now, half of the state will believe the opposite of what happened” in Connecticut when two activist legislators pushed a bill to co-opt the Church.

They “have embarrassed themselves and the state of Connecticut”  said Archbishop Henry Mansell. Even the Vatican’s newspaper, weighed in on the scandalL’Osservatore Romano brought international attention to... READ MORE

At CT.Gov, this "gay Christian fish" can symbolize SB 899.

An official at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families told me yesterday he plans to take down the more egregious pages at CT.gov—but has not yet done so.

I’ve got some more they ought to look at: It turns out the site also provides direct links to political action groups.

The Register broke the story that CT.gov is giving the public a preview of what the state’s new “SB 899”... READ MORE

If you’re coming here from Sirius/XM’s the Catholic Channel (Channel 159/XM 117) here is the shocking post Gus Lloyd was talking about, showing how in Connecticut the State still tries to take the Church’s place, reinterpreting the Bible and telling kids not to talk to their parents:

A "Gay Christian" symbol From CT.gov

Good news: The Connecticut Anti-Church Attack Bill has been tabled, and the March 11 hearing is canceled (but the rally’s still on).

Bad news: Connecticut hasn’t given up subverting the Church. The CT.gov “Safe Harbor Project” includes this (pdf format) “Gay Bible” site, and this “Don’t Tell Your Parents!” info for kids.

But about the hearing: Peter Wolfgang was at the State House when... READ MORE

Bishop William Lori of Bridgeport, Conn., discusses in this video how Connecticut Catholics can work against passage of the radical anti-Church bill now before the state Legislature.

Tom Hoopes has reported on the bill — formally called Raised Bill 1098 — in several recent Daily Blog posts. If passed, the bill would remove the authority of Connecticut’s bishops to govern their... READ MORE

Connecticut Catholics, be prepared in Hartford Wednesday:

1. Catholic “experts” will back the anti-Church bill.
2. The defense of the bill will sound reassuring and reasonable.
3. A big crowd will be there early on — but the Church needs Catholics to come later on, too.
4. We can win this, if we fight.

Let me explain:

1. One objective of the new Connecticut anti-Church structure bill,... READ MORE

CT Attack: Marriage Payback

CT Sen. Michael McLachlan (from his blog)

“The real purpose of this bill is payback to the bishops and pastors of the Roman Catholic Church in Connecticut for opposing gay marriage,” writes State Sen. Michael McLachlan of Danbury.

“Unfortunately, I think some well-intentioned, unhappy Catholics from Darien are being used as pawns by Senator McDonald and Representative Lawlor in a thinly-veiled attack on the Church.”
