An official announcement of a historic papal state visit to Britain is now not expected until toward the end of this year, the Register has learned.

News that Pope Benedict XVI would travel to the British Isles, probably in September 2010, was leaked to the media last week, but contrary to speculation, there is no likelihood of a visit to Northern Ireland this time around. That is more likely... READ MORE

Critics have charged that Sarah Palin and others were wildly over the top, in warning that President Barack Obama’s health-care reform initiative could open the door to federally funded “death panels” that would order the euthanizing of seriously ill patients.

Given what’s going on right now under Britain’s socialized National Health Service, the claims of Palin et al might not have... READ MORE

According to a story that originally appeared in the UK Catholic Herald, Chesterton biographer William Oddie will bring the subject up at the conference on July 4th.

“It is becoming clear that serious attention needs to be... READ MORE

The U.K.’s Guardian newspaper has reported that British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is committed to ending the country’s current royal ban on Catholics.

The Times of London reported today that Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor of Westminster will be offered a seat in Britain’s House of Lords.
