Al Franken, the Democratic comedian-turned-politician who has a long history of anti-Catholic diatribes, was today declared the winner of the disputed 2008 U.S. Senate race in Minnesota by the state’s Supreme Court.

A Minnesota court has ruled in favor of awarding victory to Democratic candidate Al Franken in last fall’s disputed U.S. Senate race in that state.

The court battle over the result of last year’s U.S. Senate race in Minnesota continues, with no immediate conclusion in sight.
