Fr. Joe…with all due respect Father…you are NEVER too old to wear a cassock….I recently missed a flight and the airlines put a few of us in Dallas for the evening…on the shuttle, I saw a rather portly man, probably in his early 40’s…wearing a cassock, with a huge cross around his neck…he was wearing sandels, and was enjoying an ice cream cone..(also had a pony tail, but that’s really of no consequence)..he struck quite pose and seemed totally at ease with himself…My gut told me that he prbly wasn’t Catholic..but, as fate would have it..we were delivered to the same hotel..and I took advantage of the opportunity to strike up conversation…Orthodox…very pleasant and informative conversation…he didn’t try to convert me…I could never not acknowledge the chair of Peter..nor turn my back on Mary…anyway..I love to see the clergy wearing cassock..and Religious sisters wearing Habits…it’s refreshing…by the way, I was an altar “BOY” and served Mass prior to Vatican II…It was really something to serve Mass at that time..I still pray my Rosary in Latin…now I see young boys and girls on the altar that really don’t know what is going on…and never fold their hands…Pax
Fr Joe..you sir.are never too old to wear the cassock…
