Father John Corapi has submitted his resignation from the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT), the Register has learned.

Father Gerard Sheehan, regional priest servant of SOLT, said in a press release dated July 5 that the popular priest and speaker has inspired countless thousands of Catholics, “many of whom continue to express their support of him.”

However, Father Sheehan added, “SOLT also recognizes that Father Corapi is now misleading these individuals through his false statements and characterizations. It is for these Catholics that SOLT, by means of this announcement, seeks to set the record straight.”

The press release follows in full:

Father John A. Corapi submitted his resignation from the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) early in June. SOLT is a society of apostolic life of diocesan right with its regional office in Robstown, Texas.

While SOLT does not typically comment publicly on personnel matters, it recognizes that Father John Corapi, through his ministry, has inspired thousands of faithful Catholics, many of whom continue to express their support of him. SOLT also recognizes that Father Corapi is now misleading these individuals through his false statements and characterizations. It is for these Catholics that SOLT, by means of this announcement, seeks to set the record straight.

A woman, well known to Father John Corapi, mailed SOLT a signed letter detailing allegations of Father Corapi’s sexual activity with adult women, abuse of alcohol and drugs, improper sacramental practices, violation of his promise of poverty and other wrongdoing.

After receiving the allegation, SOLT formed a three-person fact-finding team to ensure that it handled this matter in accordance with canonical norms. The team included a priest-canonist, a psychiatrist and a lawyer. Two were members of religious orders, and one was a lay Catholic. Two were men, and one was a woman. All three have national reputations and substantial experience in ecclesiastical processes related to priest disciplinary issues.

As the society was engaging this team, Father Corapi filed a civil lawsuit against his principal accuser. He contended that she had defamed him and breached her contract. The contract, according to [Father] Corapi’s lawsuit, contained a provision binding the woman to silence about him. He offered the woman $100,000 to enter this agreement.

SOLT’s fact-finding team subsequently learned that Father Corapi may have negotiated contracts with other key witnesses that precluded them from speaking with SOLT’s fact-finding team. Many of these witnesses likely had key information about the accusations being investigated and declined to answer questions and provide documents.

When the fact-finding team asked Father Corapi to dismiss the lawsuit, to forbear from foreclosing his mortgage, and to release her and other individuals from their contractual obligations to remain silent about him, he refused to do so and, through his canonical advocate, stated: “It is not possible for Father Corapi to answer the commission’s questions at this time.”

SOLT’s fact-finding team has acquired information from Father Corapi’s emails, various witnesses and public sources that, together, state that, during his years of public ministry:

— He did have sexual relations and years of cohabitation (in California and Montana) with a woman known to him, when the relationship began, as a prostitute.

— He repeatedly abused alcohol and drugs.

— He has recently engaged in “sexting” activity with one or more women in Montana.

— He holds legal title to over $1 million in real estate, numerous luxury vehicles, motorcycles, an ATV, a boat dock, and several motor boats, which is a serious violation of his promise of poverty as a perpetually professed member of the society.

SOLT has contemporaneously, with the issuance of this press release, directed Father John Corapi, under obedience, to return home to the society’s regional office and take up residence there. It has also ordered him, again under obedience, to dismiss the lawsuit he has filed against his accuser.

SOLT’s prior direction to Father John Corapi not to engage in any preaching or teaching, the celebration of the sacraments or other public ministry continues. Catholics should understand that SOLT does not consider Father John Corapi as fit for ministry.

Father Sheehan will not be available for comments, as he is attending the SOLT General Chapter from July 5-23.

I think we need to pray and pray and pray and keep praying.
To Fr. Corapi in the eyes of God we are what we are and nothing more.  We need all of us to seek his Mercy.  Jesus have given us a tool the sacrament of reconciliation and put all this to rest.

Poor (EX) Father Corapi—
That’s why we follow Jesus Christ and His church set on rock and not weak human PERSONALITIES.
I pray he will “return to his senses”—but in no way does this “shake my faith” in God.

I’m in the UK and so have little experience of Fr Corapi, but whenever I saw him, I always thought he looked like the evil Emperor Ming from Flash Gordon.

So, not far wrong, there…

So very sad for and about Fr. Corapi.  I pray that the Blessed Mother come to his aid and break satan’s chains of power and pride that seem to hold him.  God help us all

I just find it hard to believe in my heart that Fr Corapi did the things he is accused of. I saw him when he came to Buffalo in 2009, and in that speech as well as many others, he said that he tells it like it is “cause he aint gonna go to hell for NOBODY”. Why would he do these things then? I think something is wrong somewhere. I pray that the holy spirit guides us all with discernment, that we may know the real truth of the matter. I will keep praying for all those involved.

I was afraid of this….I just had this discerning “feeling” that all was not right with his “ministry” now I feel it was God whispering to me to
be cautious in believing in his sincerety and holiness. I will pray for his soul.

I am most disheartened over the resignation of John Corapi….he does not deserve any special title any more.  I was one of his listeners, who loved to hear his teachings on the Lord.  But once more, it is important to remember that we as Catholic Christians must always put Jesus first, not any man.  I will pray for Mr. Corapi, hoping that the Lord will be merciful.

St. John Vinney pray for Father Corapi that he will contenue his work for God and let no man take away what God has called him to do.  My prayers for you contenue thru this time of persacution.

It is a shame this happened to one of the few priests who was not afraid to preach the truth. Sad to say Fr. Corapi has now fallen into the apostasy of the Novu Ordo Church. The rotten fruits of today are a result of the Church reforms which typically began in the 1960’s through the 1970’s. What we are dealing with is a loss of Faith, denial of Hell, Traditional Spirituality replaced by psychology, the acceptance of sodomy, no objective morality and of course no more Anathemas. The Catholic Church is Protestantized!!!

Hard to believe..so I don’t… until proven otherwise

i find it so cunning and deceiving that once the public spoke of coropi bei ng so egotistacle and arrogant not humble he chaNGED HIS VOICE TO WHAT THE PEOP[LE WANTED IN HIS LATEST YOUTUBE. IT WOULD SEEM TO CO NTINUE GET AN AUIDIENCE OF SUPPORT BUT NOT DOING IT FOR GENUINE LOVE OF GOD AND HIS PEOPLE BUT TO KEEP A LARGE FOLLOWING IT SEEMS TO ME HE REAKLISED THE PEOPLE DID NOT WANT THE NEW IMAGE HE WAS PROJEC TING SO HE CUNNINGLY SWITCHED TO “LOVE THE CHURC H” NOW HE THINKS PEOPLE WILL THINK HE IS HUMBLE NOT ARROGANT VERY UNDERMINING IT SEEMS TO ME. WE NEED TO GET AT TRUTH SO WE DO NOT END UP FOLLOWING EVIL.

When I first heard of the falling of Father Corapi I began a rosary and asked Jesus to look with mercy and if it is his will please save him from evil.Father Corapi was a very powerful priest enlighting many sinners of the importants of God grace and mercy and the true love of our blessed Mother, I hope that this matter came be resovled if true and his soul be saved. amen

When Father Corapi announced he was leaving the priesthood without so much as a “thanks for the memories,” I knew immediately that something was desperately wrong. This would be inconceivable to the priest we all thought we knew, who modeled courage, strength, obedience, love of the Blessed Mother, “fear is useless, trust is needed.” I hope Father Corapi’s mother will once again implore him to start praying one Hail Mary a day that he might return to the Faith he once so staunchly defended. Truly his earthly mother and his heavenly mother must be utterly brokenhearted, as are we who trusted him so oompletely. May God bless him and heal him and open his eyes to the Truth.

May our Lord and our Blessed Mother have mercy on him!!!!

“Judge not lest you be judged.
The truth will out.

As several commentors mentioned our faith is in God not in personalities.  I suspect that a return to drugs may explain some of his actions. He was an addict at one time, and may have taken up the habit again.  Let’s all pray for him, and especially ask our Blessed Mother to intercede for him.

May The Holy Trinity have mercy on all of us. Please John repent and return to your Father’s House. I am a fellow sinner, but we must never try to make our sin the truth and when we find that we have we must repent. Praise be to the Ever-Virgin and Glory to God

God speaks through the Church and Father Corapi’s Superiors. Obedience, Obedience.  I read somewhere recently where a priest wrote commenting on this very sad situation: “obedience - the sign of holiness - disobedience - the sign of Satan”.  Let us continue our prayers for Father Corapi, and pray that God’s Will be done.  Prayer is always the best response.  God Bless.

Brothers and Sisters:
How quick some are to just believe that one is guilty without no proof. I will not buy into this mindset. Fr. John Corapi has helped those souls that were lost and brought them home. Do we just discount what he has done for the church? Where is the PROOF! I do not believe it until it is proven and Fr. John admits to these terrible accusations. I believe that one is innocent until proven guilty. By not allowing this process in church judgments can only help the world to misjudge those priests and bishops that have been wrongly accused. I wait until that knowledge becomes “truth”. God Bless Fr. John Corapi. God help you if you have judged him wrongly. I hope we will find out the truth. If he is guilty then and ONLY THEN, should he be judged by the church. Prove it to us first.

if we do not seek truth we allow evi

I have followed Fr. Corapi for many years and I felt then, as now , that he spoke the truth in matters of faith and morals.  I did feel, however, that he probably rubbed some church authority figures the wrong way with his adament stand on many controversial subjects.  I wouldn’t doubt that this entire process has been orchestrated by some of his peers who are jealous of his popularity and his given assignments in his ministry.  I also believe that if someone within the church is behind this situation, it will indeed go on and on and never be resolved.  I will continue to search out John Corapi and I feel that he has imparted great wisdom to the Body of Christ in the past and I do not feel that his teaching will be affected.  One of the best things about John Corapi was the fact that with him, things were black or white.  There are way too many gray areas in the church and in this country in general We will all be judged by the Almighty, and He will judge our hearts.

This statements of “fact” by the church order are allegations and can not be proven.  Father Corapi has never been caught in the act nor has there been any evidence of these acts transpiring outside of word of mouth.  We all know Father Corapi’s name..post the name of the accuser..post the name of the women he slept with.  Clear attack on a good shepard.

Here are some problems I have with this article

SOLT’s fact-finding team subsequently learned that Father Corapi may have negotiated contracts with other key witnesses that precluded them from speaking with SOLT’s fact-finding team.
(key word is MAY have…they cant prove this)

SOLT also recognizes that Father Corapi is now misleading these individuals through his false statements and characterizations
(none of these so called false statements are mentioned in the article)

The society was engaging this team, Father Corapi filed a civil lawsuit against his principal accuser. He contended that she had defamed him and breached her contract. The contract, according to [Father] Corapi’s lawsuit, contained a provision binding the woman to silence about him. He offered the woman $100,000 to enter this agreement.
(Perhaps it was the lawsuit they claim to be the false statement?)

(These statements by the order can not be proven and are used to merely defame and discredit the priest)

My conclusion is tasteless defense of the order and poor journalism for printing hearsay to distort the TRUTH

Oh, swell, another nail in the coffin of respect for those with Holy Orders.  Beaten by allegations (often quite true) that priests have abused children, I quite expected to see headlines like this - certainly outlandish, but perhaps representative of a problem that was also swept under the rug, like the years of abuse of minors.

I’d suggest some very public penance on the part of the order, and the diocese, and for sure, I’d like to see some more of this going on ....

I too will pray, and seek out models of priestly life to remind me that it is possible, but I won’t chastise the media for picking up on stories like this until we actually do something that is preventative.

This includes support for priests that does not assume that this kind of stuff is not possible.

Pray for him. Mother Mary protect him. St Micheal the Archangel Protect him.Jesus help him. and Heavenly Father help him back to You through Your Son. May he come to his senses about what he taught all of us about our Faith and return humbly back to what he was teaching us to do in our lives. We continue to pray for you John Corapi and hope for your return into community and the vow of poverty that the order calls for.  I know of somewhere that money could help out and that would be a good homeless shelter for those on the streets of Chicago. God bless you John Corapi and may He lead you back to Himself. Holy spirit help John Corapi.

I’ve talked to Fr. Corapi on a few occasions. I remember asking him a question on priests changing the words of absolution in confession after which he told me “Priests absolutely cannot take chances in any way on the wording in the sacraments. That’s dangerous.” That didn’t seem like the answer from someone who could have been guilty of what he’s been publicly accused of by SOLT. I’ve met his elderly Mom at one of his conferences. I’ve seen his orthodoxy and reverence as he served Mass. I received Communion from him. And like many, I’ve watched him for over a decade or more on EWTN.

Something just doesn’t add up with this. I’m shocked at how “revelatory” and direct his order was relative to an investigation by 3 nameless, faceless individuals. Did not St. Joseph want to “put away Mary in private so that no shame would come upon her” when he thought she had broken her vow? Maybe SOLT could take a lesson in tact and prudence from St. Joseph?

Just wondering. Maybe this is God’s way of saying, “the chickens are coming home to roost.”

“YOU WITH OUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE”

So what if Fr corapi had a little bit of money and fell into sin.
In all his homilies he did not teach error, rather he taught the truth in its entirety. He has brought people back to the Faith, saved people from
suicide and increased people’s faith in the Catholic Church.I wish we
had more priests like Fr Corapi.Remember to take out the log from within
your eye before you take out the splinter in your brother’s.

I only know that Fr. John Corapi has given me a deeper love for the Church and Our Blessed Mother. I NEVER FOUND ANY UNTRUTHS IN HIS PREACHINGS ! If he has sinned (who has not)he has still served GOD and done more good in HIS name than anyone else I have known. May the Immaculate Heart of Mary protect and guide him and forgive him for any and all sins he may have committed in his life. I keep him always in my prayers.  Terese

SO….those in authority just found out this past year of his drugs, sexting and living with a woman. How long was this supposed to be going on? He has been a priest for 20 years. I happen to have first knowledge of addiction and I may be wrong, but how could he have hidden these lifestyle for all these years? Something smells here. Father Corapi gave a talk last summer in Utica, (I think it was Utica), but if he was drugging and alcohol, believe me it would have shown. Drugs and alcohol will take you down real quick. Look….they say there were emails and sexting. Please…..I will not believe that. Drug addicts are pretty slick and there is no way I believe Fr. Corapi would leave any evidence of this action so easily traced. EMAILS!!! Does not sit right with me.
The church might want to think how their procedures on handling these matters by just taking the side of the accuser, before standing by their own first to find out the “truth”, just makes the world more easier to judge priests and bishops that are innnocent, past and future. I may be wrong in this and I am not an authority, but since the scandals, I think the church may want to change their tactics. This smells of fear of lawsuit against the church and thinking they are protecting the church. God Our Father is not a deceiver. We may not gain by protecting evil in our church and covering up the truth, but you better be right. Fr. Corapi was called and he was sent and did a lot financially for the church. So, please…..bring the accuser to the light if she is innocent. The civil courts believe in justice, not want you know, you better prove it. I will not believe it until it’s proven. I know I said it in another post, but I say it again, PROVE IT! OR AT LEAST EXPLAIN MORE WHY THE ACCUSER IS NOT BROUGHT TO THE LIGHT. GOD BLESS FR. JOHN CORAPI

I, personally, am mad as hell that Corapi (Coradi) has taken advantage of so many people, right at their very hearts…their faith.  My husband and I saw him in Buffalo and now I wish I could get my money back!  I used to love his message, owned his DVDs, and now cannot believe someone could take advantage of people the way he has.  One look at his website, or one listen to the ramblings and accusations made against the Church, and you have to have your eyes opened up to this man.  He is a con artist.  Don’t give him a minute more of your time.  The only thing he needs now are prayers that he doesn’t burn in hell forever.

What a loss for the Catholic Priesthood!! I’ve watched your program for many years and each show was a special blessing for me.  Please know that you and you and your lovely—long suffering, mother are at the top of my very powerful Rosary List. Jane Maloney

Dear Angry:

You act as if you KNOW that Corapi did the things he’s accused of and have inside information the rest of us don’t have.

How do you KNOW he’s done what the anonymous 3-man team hired by SOLT said he did? Are the many things he’s said in defense of strict orthodox Catholic teachings over the years to be swept under the rug? Is the ever present devotion to Mary, whom he often preached about, to be dismissed?

Please shed some light for the rest of us on the information you have…. otherwise, if you don’t have this information and you believe everything you read, please watch the movie “A Man for All Seasons” and see what the “pack of wolves” did to slander, lie and ultimately convict Sir Thomas More (Saint Thomas More).... England’s first martyr, beheaded by Henry VIII. I’m not saying Corapi is innocent. One thing I DO know is that a 3-man anonymous team, at the eleventh hour, has come up with all of these “revelations” and many now want to throw Fr. Corapi under the bus.

There’s an old wise phrase that goes “Believe all of the good that you hear, and only the evil that you see.”

He’s innocent until proven guilty. Read that as…. PROVEN guilty. Put your stone down and go home.

I don’t understand what “people he took advantage of”. You may be against the “messenger”, but the DVD’s and his talks and conferences were the authentic teachings of the Catholic Church. I bought his DVD’s too and if he is “truly guilty”, he deserves what he gets. But the teachings are “truth” on faith and morals and absolute. That won’t change so I don’t feel sorry I bought them. I do not feel “taken advantage of”. The Church benefited from his wealth too. The real question is where are the facts and who are these people involved. WE DON’T KNOW IF THIS IS ALL TRUE AND THE WAY IT IS BEING PRESENTED. I JUST SPEAK FOR ME. I want to hear the facts and I want to know who these people are and proof that these allegations are completely factual. I also would like to hear from the Church WHY Fr. cannot defend himself. That means anyone can accuse clergy of all sorts of things, even if it’s not true. That is how I see it. I believe we need much more before condemning Fr. Corapi, or anyone for that fact. Just my opinion. Also, if he really was guilty, I would think he would just disappear. I am definitely going to read his biography and listen to his website for a time. If this is true, his addiction will take over and speak for itself. I will be watching him as many will. God will reveal things in time if these allegations are really true. Also, I am not blaming the “whole church”. This is for SOLT and the people involved.

“As the twig is bent, so bends the tree.”  I understand fully the demonic attacks Fr. Corapi is under.  Conditioned as both he and I were by our adolescent indiscretions and following of the world’s invitations to carnal excesses of all kinds, I fall daily as does he.  Did not Jesus Christ state the just man falls 7 times per day?

We all need prayer and fasting, but who has the strength to do so these days?  Did Fr. Corapi himself not relate the story of the saint who, when asked by his novice if people would engage in long fasts and all-night prayer in the final days as they were doing then, that the saint said because they fought against satan chained, they could do such things.  But we would fight against satan unchained, and none would be able to fast and pray.

Did not Christ Himself state that when He returned, “But yet the Son of man, when he cometh, shall he find, think you, faith on earth?”  Do we not witness such wholesale upheaval in Christ’s Church to the point that Pope Paul VI stated “Da qualche fessura sia entrato il fumo di Satana nel tempio di Dio?” in response to the vast number of priests who departed the Church leading to our crisis today?

Did not John Corapi clearly state that satan’s best tactic is to kill the priest in order to deny the Faithful the Eucharist, the Bread of Life, which hardly a Catholic today believes to be literally the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Precious Lord?

Fr. Corapi is the reason I returned to the Church. I firmly hope that he now also returns to his senses, his order and to the church.

Pray for him….....

He is still a soul loved by God, whatever be his history.  That’s what we have to see.  Given his high-profile success in helping souls, no doubt he was a huge target for the Enemy.  But God NEVER gives up - we all see that in our own lives.

Mathew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

I have just reread all the statements on the “Black Sheep Dog” website and also, the above article. I listened once more to Fr. Corapi’s video. They both sound very convincing. However, there is one very GRAY area here. The church’s process does not allow for the “true story” to be exposed. The church is an “authority” and I definitely understand the “obedience” to the church as a priest. BUT…..remember those in authority are under “obedience” to GOD THE FATHER. It just does not make sense to put our Priests, Bishops and other clergy in a position where they could be accused so easily and not be able to defend themselves. If these laws are binding, then it does open a wider “door” for SATAN to attack our priests as they cannot even rely on their own leaders to protect their callings. This makes no sense according to what I have read and listened to. As Fr. Corapi stated, we do not “follow him”. We follow Our Lord Jesus Christ and still remain in the church as flawed as it is. Jesus said, “If you say you do not sin, you are a liar”. Does this not apply to the authority in the church? How do we know that this was not done because Fr. Corapi has exposed them for their errors. He never suggested we leave our church, but always said to pray for them too. PLEASE READ AND READ AGAIN, and make no judgements against Fr. Corapi, unless it is proven. A person who has been living like the church has accused him of cannot continue and plan like Fr. Corapi is planning to do in the future. You cannot thrive with alcohol and drugs and live a healthy productive life. He will not THRIVE!!! He should have by now been on a “bottom” so bad, that he could not even answer at all to these allegations. So, time will tell and I pray for both those accusers and our dear Fr. Corapi. Trust in the Lord always. Do not judge him unless you have personal knowledge that this is TRUE! God Bless!!! Mary, Queen of Heaven, Protect your Son! Saints Pray for Fr. John Corapi! Pray for the church to be able to change their process for these types of problems. Pray for Justice for all concerned!! Pray for his accusers!!! BE ON GUARD FOR THE WOLVES!!!

My hair raise to call you John, but this what you are signing your name now. I have learned a million and one thing from you about my catholic faith. Please do not forgot what happen to King Solomon. He started with the image of the Son of God and ended in the image of anti-Christ because he violated all that are required from a king. Please ask your self this question: Have I jump in Kings Solomon’s boat?. You started so great because you have been endowned by your Creator with a Divine Wisdom ( I believe ) that you may use this gift for the purpose of bringing His children to salvation. Please do not be corrupted by this world. What happened to your teaching about humility & obedience? May I remind you what I have learned from you that this world is passing and is nothing compared to eternity

I truly feel we are seeing in modern times what would have happened had Padre Pio taken the road of defiance instead of obedience, the way of pride instead of humility, the way of monetary gain instead of poverty. That’s what this comes down to. We are terrifyingly seeing this played out. Oh how this must sadden the Blessed Mother! The sheep, black or otherwise, has left the fold. The Good Shepherd will pursue him. We must pray for him!

So many priests, nuns and lay Catholics are being deceived by evil and lead down the road of sin.  It is harder when this person is a public figure….but the reality is that most of society is doing the same things and even worst…prayer and penance…returning back to God and His laws is the only way to change society, the churches, etc. Many Christian Protestant Ministers have done the same and worst…prayer and forgiveness is the only way to change the situation…it is sad that Father fell into sin, but we believe that Jesus forgives and the greatest sinner can become the greatest saint…all we are ask to do is forgive and pray for sinners…which we all are at one time or another….LET HE WHO IS WITHOUT SIN CAST THE FIRST STONE….

Dear Dan Sheffield,  When a trusted friend or spouse betrays you (eg; a spouse having an affair, a friend revealing a treasured secret), it is natural to doubt everything that has transpired between the two of you since the time of the wronged action.  If you have evidence piling up, you start to question.  There are too many things, in my humble opinion, that do not add up.  The facts that are completely true and documented are:  he owns real estate that values in the millions, he owns a motorcycle and various other high-end vehicles, he was disobedient to SOLT in his promise of poverty, in 1999 he was arrested for a D.U.I. in Sacramento, CA and used along with his name, the alias Tony Coradi, which happens to be his fathers name, he has repeatedly committed the sin of detraction against the Church.  You can look up this information and find it all true.  I didn’t form my opinion until I read the facts to back up my hunch.  The other thing I have asked myself is “Would Mother Angelica, Fr. Mitch Pacwa, or Father Benedict Groeschel carry on this way over the obstacles they faced?”  Look at the number of fans on his new website…there are only roughly 750.  Out of all the people who followed him, why so low a number?  Along with praying for John Corapi, I pray for all the people who have been victimized by his deception.  I don’t always carry a stone…sometimes it’s a boulder.

Let`s not forget,he is human first, priest second. Did Jesus not preach mercy ? Let the situation run its course and pray for the man.

I am really sorry for Fr Corapi and what has happened here.  I don’t know if Father is 100% innocent or his society is 100% correct or just blowing this up out of proportion.  All I know is, many, many priests have been accused of things like in Fr Corapi’s case and some have been accused and yes, convicted of heinous crimes, unlike the Fr Corapi case which I still say is he said, she said.  The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle.  Anyway, I respect Father for his ministry and what he has accomplished over the past 20 years.  I had opportunity to see him speak in the Prudential Center NJ last October so I only became acquainted with him and his ministry.  I want to continue to think of Father as a fellow traveler on this journey we are all on.  I don’t think Father could mislead me; I am a seasoned Catholic and my feet are on the ground.  We are all sinners.  The only One who is without sin went to the Cross for us.  We have only to embrace that Cross and follow Him.  I wish Father Corapi good luck in his future endeavors.  And this is not good bye to Father but til we meet again on the highway to Heaven.  Thank you

Celebrities have a very difficult life; it is easy to be tempted by pride and wealth. I think the enemies of God particularly target religious and political figures so that we end up discouraged with our own journeys. Rush Limbaugh is an example of someone who got into trouble and now has come back better than ever. If Fr. Corapi chooses to come back, he’ll have an inspiring story to tell about Reconciliation.

Where is the proof?  Catholics are always guilty first.  This must be so, as the liberal news media, hollywood, T.V., and the so called education system confirm on a daily basis.  May God help and bless you Father John Corapi.

Dear Angry,

Again,... your premise seems to be that you’ve decided that Fr. Corapi is guilty of each and every accusation. And if you’ve decided that, then there’s nothing further to be said. No one will dissuade you. That’s between you and your conscience.

I’m contending that nothing has been proven, and that the accusations are still that - accusations, by faceless individuals (to the public at large anyway). Neither claimant on either side of the issue has won or lost. It seems to be an unfortunate STALEMATE - at least right now. And in such a situation, I won’t condemn the actions of someone where such has not been PROVEN. And I haven’t friended Fr. Corapi on his new BlackSheepDog site. Having 750 friends is no indication of innocence or guilt. That’s an indication of caution…. which I have and from your own words, don’t seem to.

I’ve never once heard him “commit the sin of detraction” against the Church in all the years I’ve been watching him. I’ve heard him speak live and I’ve talked with him face to face on a few occasions. He blessed my Bible. It’s not detraction to mention that certain bishops (without naming them as he never did) are wolves in sheep’s clothing as a number of them are. (You may argue that Fr. Corapi is.) I live in upstate New York and I have serious issues and firsthand experience with two bishops in particular that have allowed rampant heterodoxy in their dioceses. And THAT…. is HIGHLY documented.

Would you have jumped to conclusions and condemned Padre Pio the same way when he was silenced by his order for many years? From 1924 to 1931 the Holy See made various statements denying that the happenings in the life of Saint Padre Pio were due to any divine reason. At one point, he was prevented from publicly performing his priestly duties, such as hearing confessions and saying Mass. That went on for 7 years until Pope Pius XI relented.

If you’ve already decided he’s guilty, then in your mind, get on with the whole “I feel betrayed” thing, launch the boulder and walk away - that’s fine. But I cannot make that judgement in charity and in conscience as no judgement has been given, only accusations. Period. The property thing wouldn’t concern me a fraction as much as the female insinuations. And when you’re toying with rhetoric on someone’s reputation, I’d much rather not be guilty of the sin of detraction myself relative to Corapi and assume he’s innocent until proven otherwise.

And if he were guilty, it doesn’t shake my faith in the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church one iota as it’s Christ’s Church and its infallibility and indefectability is guaranteed and chronicled in Matthew 16:18.

Dan

Thank you for your article, it is a tragic story and I regret the loss of a great speaker but it is better he have time to seek penance for his transgressions. I pray he will return to the light.

He is a priest, forever, in the eyes of God.  Holy orders places an indelible character on the soul, either for its greater glory in Heaven, or for its greater punishment in Hell. I find it very difficult to believe what Fr. Corapi stands convicted of, and I really do not believe it.  However, the disobedience he is displaying toward the superior of his congregation is indisputable.  Where does this stem from?  Guilt?  Anger?  I don’t know.  But I do know that humble obedience to lawful authority is the hall mark of a saintly soul…the opposite is also true.  Return to your order, please, Fr. Corapi…...That is what you have taught millions of us..humilty and obedience.

I have great respect for Fr. Corapi. His spritual journey has touched the lives of so many people in our broken world.

When someone assumes a public role as Fr. Corapi hasdone, one needs to be vigilant in every regard and also needs to excesssively practice the virtues of poverty and humilty. Mimicking the the life of St. Jean Vianney would be a good start.

Let’s keep Fr. Corapi and all concerned in out prayers.

Dan,  The man made a VOW OF OBEDIENCE at his ordination!!!

You can stand alone against the world if you have the TRUTH including the Church authority. Quoting from what you have written previously John “..authority in the church that want me gone, and I shall be gone…” Did you write this or have somebody wrote this for you, because this is not you. Why are hiding behind civil suits. Is not having the THRUTH enough? This doesn’t add up, knowing you and have loved you since I first saw your conversion tape. I have drink and was drunk with all you have taught! Suppose you are guilty of all you are accused of. Is resigning from Priesthood the right answer? I think HUMILITY & TAKING RESPONSIBLITY like what you did before (the conversion tape)is the answer that will make sense. We are all sinners and we sin, the reason why we have a Redeemer!
Please pray this in all your waking hours: JESUS MEEK AND HUMBLE OF HEART MAKE MY HEART LIKE UNTO THINE. The picture of the Black SheepDog look to me like demonic.

John, you can be against the world alone including the Church Authority if you have the TRUTH. Quoting from what you have said earlier “....authority from the Chruch that want me gone, & I shall be gone….”. Did you write this or somebody wrote it for you because this doesn’t add up. I know you are a warrior and you know the best tactic. You know where the higher ground is, where you can see clearly your enemies and fight to win - Remember the “Old war - New War”? I have loved you and have drunk in all your teaching since the tape of your conversion. Why are you hiding behind those civil suits? Is not TRUTH enough? Suppose you are guilty on all the accusation made against you. Is resigning from Priesthood the right answer?. Should you not fight back with best weapon of HUMILITY and take responsibilty, just like you did before in your conversion tape?
We are all sinners, the very reason why we have a MERCIFUL REDEEMER.  life is short and eternity is forever
Please pray this in all your waking hours:JESUS MEEK AND HUMBLE OF HEART MAKE MY HEART LIKE UNTO THINE.

I’m disappointed at Father Corapi and hopes he seeks reconciliation.  I’ve read his response to SOLT which is evasive and sidesteps key particular accusations.  Besides the accusations seeming true, he went against the obedience of his superiors; this is not trivial.  In St. Faustina’s Diary, Jesus told Faustina that her obedience (to her superiors) pleased him even more than her long prayers.

Even Padro Pio, was despised & hated by monks in his OWN order. Every time he would return to his order, he would suffer from a mysteriously high fever. Even monks were jealous of Saint Pio & tried to poison him, but the poison had no effect.  Mary McKillop, also was unjustly accused by priests of wrong doing who influenced the Bishop which led to her wrongful excommunicated , only to be returned to her order several months later.  Let us just be patient & pray that the truth will be revealed in time…If he did wrong, so.. God is merciful & forgives, as we all do wrong & he forgives when we realise & repent.  If he be innocent…he has time & the truth on his side & very often God brings much good to the church, his people & the individual from this suffering..

I wondered what had happened to Fr. Corapi’s preaching/teaching program on EWTN.  I’m an Anglican and very much enjoyed and was challenged by Fr. Corapi’s preachings;  his leaving is a great lose to EWTN viewers and to the Roman Catholc Church.

I don’t know if his accusers are correct or not; I am very suspecious of internal church investagations….or any organization’s internal investagations.

I do know that he was/is an outstanding preacher/teacher of Jesus Christ, Christ’s love, the Faith, the Saint’s and the Sacraments.  He was a far more interesting speaker than other priests on EWTN.

May God bless him, his friends and family, and guide him in his new life.
PAX

Innocent until proven guilty.  “Judge not, that you be not judged: for with what judgment you shall judge, you shall be judged.”

The funny thing is that I had never heard of John Corapi until the scandal broke loose.
I have always been wary of putting any human on a pedestal, no matter how right their words.
All people have clay feet.  All of us.
Money, power, fame, adulation, are all powerful tempters.  Fr. Corapi is now a figurehead in a cult of personality and this kind of thing never ends well.
May the Lord have mercy on everyone involved in this mess.

Were the facts about the wealth , the property owned by Fr Corapi not known by SOLT earlier ? If so why kept silence ? Vow is taken for poverty and wealth is amased. Many priests are after wealth and so next step is going after pleasures of all sorts. Simplicity of life is neglected and so all these happen

I fully endorse what Dan Sheffield has written on the 11th., 12th. and 13th. of the current month. Who are those 3 so-called professionals who don’t dare to appear publicly ? This investigation of SOLT’s falls a bit short, to say the least. Why don’t they take Fr. Corapi before a judge, be them civil or religious? They say they have all kinds of witnesses, documents, etc.. to prove their case, so why don’t they act fully in the open?

I find it very curious that a religios leader and speaker with the notoriety of Fr. Corapi, could fall without attracting the attention of the secular media.  Is it possible that they investigated the allegations, and found them too vague and unsupported?

I am so saddened by the mess Fr. Corapi has made of his life.  Also it makes so many feel betrayed by his teachings.  However a very wise friend once told me ” You don’t have to have a terminal case of a disease to be contagious”.  We of course must now look at what Fr Corapi said in the past in the light of these revelations and discern what is true.  Since we have the Holy Spirit to be our real guide we are able to do this. Also, most of us have been Catholic long enough to know what TRUTH is.  JESUS IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE!  If the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus sent to guide us, can work through sinners like St. Peter or St Paul, then the Holy Spirit can work through a sinner like John Corapi.  Since John has, seemingly, refused to follow his own freely given vows of obedience to his order I must, reluctantly, conclude that, at least some of, the accusations are true.  I will continue to listen to Fr Corapi’s old talks and find the strength in them that I have previously found there.  BUT! I will not be able to continue listening to John Corapi (in any persona) and have confidence in the TRUTH of the words he speaks.  When John comes to his senses and repents of whatever he has really done, God will forgive him.
God bless you all, and please Pray!

What I want to know is why the Catholic Church finds it so hard to forgive? They preach it all the time, but when it comes to forgiving one of their own, they never take the higher course of action. Do you really think that Jesus would have sent a team of fact finders to spy on Father Corapi? Or do you think that Jesus would have confronted him with a merciful heart and asked him what he wanted to do about it. His offence is not against the church, or it’s people or all of us would have seen it in his teachings. But not one time did I see anything but a man guided by the Holy Spirit (who, by the way, does not stop helping us give the right lessons no matter what is going on in our own lives)God does not leave us hanging while a priest straightens out his life.

I think if you ask God, you would find out that He is not in favor of “The public has a right to know”. For all you who continually bring evils deeds into public view, that not only destroy a mans character and life, but who also present a means for others to judge these men; you should realize how much do so is hurting your heavenly Father who says, “This is my child you are destroying today.” I can tell that you are not only breaking a few of the commandments with these acts of pursecution by you are damaging your own souls and those souls who read or hear anything you are bringing into their attention.

Stop helping Satan take us to hell, we are doing that enough ourselves.
Your job as a child of God is to forgive your brother, and make it easy for him to feel safe in your love and home. These are the ways of God and the ways that man should follow. Your punishments of this priest are far greater than God would give to him because God would forgive everything and ask him never to do it again. He would also ask him if it was his choice to live in God’s way, if he said yes, God would take nothing from him that has been given.  Can you imagine if we were all judged by God for our sins, the way that this order of priest judged their brother.  I guess God would be kicking us all off the earth.

Forgiveness is not easy. But it means forgiving everything, not just the little things. All sin is major to God. There are no venial and mortal sins where God is concerned. For each offense large or small, you must turn your back on God to commit them. So every sin is a sin against the 1st commandment which says ” Do no take other gods before me.” For us on earth it means, NOTHING should be done without God’s consent. If you are not asking God how to treat each other, then you are constantly breaking the first commandment. I don’t mean, asking a higher source in your order, for what to do, I mean asking God himself. And here is the best part, you have to wait for God’s answer. No matter how long it take Him to give it to you.

Start doing God’s will and living the way God intended man to live. Forgive and help instead of saying you forgive and getting rid of the problem by getting rid of the man.

This and all of the evil things that priest have done for all time, should not be laid out in front of the world for all of us to judge. God does not think any more highly of one who spreads the stories of a man who is taken advantage by evil, than he does the one who is being talked about and tormented. This man is tormented by evil because he wants to help mankind get to heaven. Satan hates him for his efforts and will do everything possible to bring him down. How can his own brothers torment him even more, to Satan’s delight, and assist Satan in bringing him down.

*Let God be God. *If anyone has brought you closer to God, has helped you with your faith, praise God. *Keep human beings in perspective. Pray for sinners: that would include me, my family, friends, and remaining humans abounding this earth. *Let us remain humble, non-accusatory, and unceasingly prayerful for our brother, Father Corapi. Once ordained, always ordained—I believe public ministry and community involvement can be denied, but he remains a priest. *Let us love and pray for our brother, as God has commanded and for whom Jesus so beautifully lived, died, & rose. *Within this tragedy there are many blessings for everyone who is or will be touched by it. Let us keep our hearts open to the Holy Spirit to not miss His graces…. in His love, mg

I find it unfortunate that there are still those who are in complete and utter denial.  Pray for him, of course!  But denying the obvious to the death is counter-productive.  Almost every mystic in our Church’s history was falsely accused in this life, and it was how they responded to it which showed their mystical unity to Christ.  They didn’t hire lawyers and go on a defensive public relations melee, but rather united their will to God’s, and like Christ in the Garden,  withstood false persecution and glorified God through their heroic virtue.  Even if this is all just a bunch of false accusations (which is all but mis-proven at this point) then his response has been the worst example he could ever give his “followers”.  Actions speak louder than any great talk anyone could ever give.

Lord have mercy, Prayers with Fr. Corapi.

What smear job!!!!  I do believe that when Father Corapi said, he would not go to hell for anyone he meant it!  Shame for even posting such a horrible attack against such a Priest or any Priest!  The Bishops, this paper and Arroyo have damaged the EWTN Franchise!!!!!!  Whether they are true or not, it is not the Catholic way to make him guilty before proven innocent! I am ashamed of my Church and unsubscribing!

One thing Father Corapi DID admit on his blacksheepdog website is that he is a savvy businessman.  A businessman is one who looks to profits in order that he may be a force in the world to improve others’ lives.  One cannot pay salaries if one is not profitable.  Therefore, his employees have been the recipients of a very savvy and talented capitalist whose EDUCATION made him the benefactor of so many people.

His EDUCATION also made him a widely spread advocate of ancient Church teaching, the likes of which we RARELY hear from the pulpit anymore.  We hear NOTHING of the terrors of Hell, we hear NOTHING of what the Apostolic Fathers taught, we hear NOTHING of the categorically dogmatic error of unwashed, unblessed and unsanctified hands of Eucharistic Ministers passing out the Holiest of Holies into our equally unwashed and hence, unclean hands before ingesting the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ Truly Present in the Eucharist.  We hear NOTHING of the lives of saints except what we are able to glean from older truly Catholic texts and the vast majority of American Catholics today are in rebellion without even being aware of it.  Where do we ever see today the communion rail?  You want more evidence?  Read “Get Us Out Of Here” by the late Maria Simma.

Look, I am a consummate, filthy pseudo sinner even worse than anything Fr. Corapi is accused of, because God showed me HELL and I still sin.  Unto whom is given much, much is to be demanded.  So my place will be deeper and more anguishing than anyone else’s here.  Because I KNOW and still sin.

So, if you believe Father is guilty, then do penance for him and prove yourself a Catholic, rather than want your money back due to your feeling of having been betrayed.  Did not Jesus Christ stated categorically, “Do penance, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” and “11:20. Then began he to upbraid the cities wherein were done the most of his miracles, for that they had not done penance.

11:21. Woe thee, Corozain, woe to thee, Bethsaida: for if in Tyre and Sidon had been wrought the miracles that have been wrought in you, they had long ago done penance in sackcloth and ashes.

11:22. But I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment, than for you.

11:23. And thou Capharnaum, shalt thou be exalted up to heaven? thou shalt go down even unto hell. For if in Sodom had been wrought the miracles that have been wrought in thee, perhaps it had remained unto this day.

11:24. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for thee.”

More tolerable for SODOM????  Do you see what we oh-so-comfy and self-justified, self-satisfied, gluttonous, licentious, pride-filled, bitterly envious, computer game slothful, cheating our employers, greed filled with our desires for mansions and luxury cars, are going to be experiencing shortly?  Is there any surprise of the remarkable reversal of fortunes western civilization is going through from the destruction of its economy and the invasion of the same people who were the punishers of the ancient Jews for their betrayals?  God have mercy on us, but where can we find sackcloth these days???

I happen to love Father Corapi very much.  I am not even Catholic, although my husband was.  I have heard Fr. Corapi speak many times via television broadcasts (EWTN) and he has publicly said that he was and is a sinner - we ALL are!!!  Priests aren’t perfect, NOBODY BUT JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF WAS/IS PERFECT.  I don’t know nor have I heard anything about current “mortal sin” or misconduct.  I just know that I enjoy his sermons and sense of humor and I relate to him very because he DID in fact live a most imperfect life before the Priesthood!  For many of us, this is what we love about him.  How can you say I KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE, if you don’t?  He says it, means it and LIVED it so indeed he DOES know what it’s like.  I am very disturbed and filled with sorrow at this scandal.  I look forward to hopefully seeing him very near in the future in another “place” - I agree with Ms. Horton this this is a shameful attack and is damaging EWTN as we speak.  If you see this by any chance, Father, please know you are beloved to so so many of us and in our prayers.  You are what I like to call “THE REAL DEAL.”  Thank you for helping me change my life!

It is so sad when a person becomes “popular” they fall.

Father Corapi preaching brought me back into the church lead me to learn and practice my faith. It was like heaven speaking to me when I listen. My task within my Knights of Columbus is committee chairmen for vocations. At 67, catholic private boarding school I have watched the ranks of the priesthood drop to a small group. So this issue with Corapi hits me hard. Who is telling the truth? The church that covered up years of abuse against children and allowed hundreds of sick priest to act out the directions of the devil? Or maybe Corapi? I hope in time the truth comes out but until then we need to remember that Corapi is not being charged with attacking children, stealing money or murder. Corapi talks directly about his earlier life of sin. Explains the power of the devil and how we need Jesus to save us. Maybe he has again been doing acts of sin against God. Who has not also or maybe still falls at times into the hands of the devil. Maybe the best lesson that Corapi can teach us is that the devil can get him he can get us and we need to pray often to Jesus for protection. Even St Peter who in person knew Jesus turned his back against the Jesus. Let us all not lose sight of what is really the subject. Like Corapi says “In the end you will be in heaven or hell – forever”. May we all pray for Corapi, the church and each other daily.

I listened to him on the radio, but always thought it weird how he talked about his past.  Almost like he was proud of the evil things he did before his conversion.

He sins like all of us. When someone is put in a position of power like that, especially when they are vulnerable and have previously been an addict, it can be dangerous. That’s another reason why so many people in high positions fall. Pride and adulation can go to their head. Pride has been man’s fall from the beginning. He needs help and God’s mercy. There’s a rehabilitation center for priests who are addicted I believe in NY state. I suggest, John, you get this kind of help and come back to the faith. Praying for you.

To James F. in Englad—that was not nice and a very un-Christian thing to say.  I do, however, like most of the world, have a sense of humor.  I forgive you, though you didn’t ask for forgiveness, YOU NEED TO of GOD and Fr. Corapi.  It’s too bad you have much “experience” or listening knowledge, reading or othr knowledge by Father Corapi.  He’s awesome; so inspirational.  (This is not a very CHRISTIAN like thing to say either, but I personaly always thought he was quite handsome and very attractive!  I even thought, wow, how come some of the most gorgeous, sexy men have to be preachers or priets!)  For a person to try to lead me out of my “mess” he or she needs to have been in my “mess” before try8ing to tell me what to do abut it. That’s the most effective of reaching ME….example:  You be the designted or hired “leader” of a weight loss class but if you get up there having lost 5 pounds, tryi gnt oinspire me to lost 100 pounds, forget it.  You simply can’t offer the advice tht comes thru wtih experience, which is what I eed.  Likewise, because Father Corapi had been where I am (was) and knew exactly what “it” felt like, well, that alone made me feel as if were TRULY not alone, and a PRIEST had actually gone thru what I was going thru and MADE it thru, and MADE IT WELL.  Made it to loving God to the max!  That, to me, is whatcha call TRUE TESTIMONY.  And it means more to me than any preacher or Priest who has never “been thru something like this” and came OUT OF IT serving God as Corapi has done.  Just wanted to say this, along with THANK YOU, FATHER.  Prayers are with you!  Please know that I am / we are BEHIND you all the way.  Also know that indeed YOU HAVE MADE A HUGE DIFFERENCE in our lives; your testimony has humbled and encouraged me so so much.  A sincere THANK YOU to you.  I will be looking for you on The Black Sheepdog!  Love you Father!!!  xoxo

The biggest problem w/ this world is the loss of truth.  This calamity w/ Fr C will never be resolved w/o the illuminating light of truth.  And truth requires transparency.  Holy Spirit, Come!  Are the wounds of Christ not enough to bring forth Light?  The wounds of Christ are enough!  +++ Loss of humility is the open door that allows satan an entrance. Christ is Justice & Mercy.  Is Christ being Christilogically exercised by the Church regarding Fr. Corapi? The application of justice deserves a mirror; it is a reflection of Christ Himself.  Is the cup of justice transparent, or colored by the dark of pride?  +++ Wherever truth is being revealed, the presence of God is being discovered.  Seek the truth objectively in the Light of right-reason.  Only then will satan’s divisive fog begin to lift.  +++ Holy Spirit, may the Light of Truth prevail, for the sake of the Body of Christ, our beloved Church.

I got a “reply” from someone who apparently read my comment.  This reply I received was excellent.  Thank you, whomever you are.  Even if Father Corapi DID what he is being accused of, which I do not believe he did, it is up to GOD to judge, not us.  Churches have screwed around and “made their own rules” and this is NOT AT ALL based on Christ’s teachings.  This matter most certainly will NOT shake my faith in God, nor in Corapi.  For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.  I don’t care if you’re a prostitute junkie or the POPE…YOU STILL SIN!!  Only one man ever walked the earth who DID NOT SIN….Jesus Christ HIMSELF.  God bless Father Corapi and I can’t wait to start hearing, perhaps watching, his new BLACKDOG SHEET ministry.  Love to you, Father….xxoo

I read for the first time SOLT Father Sheehan’s press release of July 5th, and find what he had to say, and what their fact finding team discovered very, very disturbing. Really has made my heart sad, truly heartbroken and a feeling of betrayal. What is equally heartbreaking is that John Corapi has not come out and addressed this report nor has he ever stated that he has done anything wrong. Until John Corapi clears up the many unanswered questions, it will be hard for me to support his silence. I will continue to pray for him that he see the error of his ways, and that he find guidance.

I would like to add one personal note. The first time I saw Fr. John Corapi was on EWTN in his very powerful Easter Triduum. What I saw back them was what appeared to be a humble man, dress in his grey monks garb. He didn’t appear to be a young man, in fact he seem middle aged, bolding salt and pepper hair and beard, with a thunderous delivery and voice. As the year wore on I saw a transformation in Fr. John Corapi he no longer donned the humble monk robe, he had exchanged it for a very attractive tailored suit, and he appeared with a shaven dome highly polished. And recently up until him being suspended from his priestly duties, his appearance was the most dramatic, his shinning head was enough to hurt your eyes and his salt and pepper beard had miraculously turned jet black.

Criticism of Priests - Our Lord’s revelations to Mutter Vogel

...“One should NEVER attack a priest, even when he’s in error. Rather, one should pray and do penance that I’ll grant him My grace again. He alone fully represents Me, even when he doesn’t live after My example!” (page29, Mutter Vogel’s Worldwide Love, St. Grignion Publishing House, Altoting, South Germany, June 29, 1929).

“When a priest falls, we should extend him a helping hand THROUGH PRAYER AND NOT THROUGH ATTACKS! I Myself will be his judge, NO ONE BUT I! Whoever voices judgment over a priest has voiced it over Me; child, never let a priest be attacked; take up his defense.” (Feast of Christ the King, 1939). “Child, never judge your confessor; rather, pray much for him and offer every Thursday, through the hands of My blessed Mother, Holy Communion (for him)” (June 6, 1939). “Never again accept an out-of-the-way word about a priest, and speak no unkind word (about them) EVEN IF IT WERE TRUE! Every priest is My Vicar and My Heart will be sickened and insulted because of it! If you hear a judgment (against a priest) pray a Hail Mary.” (June 28, 1939).

“If you see a priest who celebrates the Holy Mass unworthily, then say nothing about him; rather, tell it to Me alone! I stand beside him on the altar! Oh pray much for my priests; that they’ll love purity above all; that they’ll celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with pure hands and heart. Certainly, the Holy Sacrifice is one and the same even when it’s celebrated by an unworthy priest, but the grace called down upon the people is not the same!” (Feb. 28, 1938).

The Priesthood is a Masterpiece of Christ’s Divine Love, Wisdom and Power…

Criticism of Priests - Our Lord’s revelations to Mutter Vogel

Why is it that a priest can forgive us, but that we can’t forgive a priest.
Many of them are overworked.  I talked to a priest who was transferred to another parish from ours.  He is a full time pastor in the inner city.
He has a full time ministry at a college.  And He has another full time job doing some other work which I have forgoten.  3 full time jobs.
I wonder to myself just how much longer before something snaps.

I heard someone complain about our parish priest’s homilies.  But the best part follows when he offers the Lamb of God for our sins, and then
feeds us at the divine banquet.  It is our fault if we don’t appreciate
what we really have.

Father, my prayers go with you to fix what was broken.

I, of course, do not know Father Corapi personally.  From what he has said about his life in his talks, however, he strikes me as a man of many qualities.  Courage, dogged determnation to pursue the truth as he sees it (which is all any of us can do), high intelligence.  What he does not strike me as being is stupid.

Only a stupid man would put himself in the power of the kinds of people who are accusing him by doing the things with them he is accused of doing.  By doing so, he would put himself in a posiiton where they could destroy him at any time, and I do not believe he is that kind of person.  I cannot imagine that a man who was brought so low by drugs would go back to them, knowing what would await him.

He has defended the Faith, the Church, and the Holy Father, and this is what he gets.  Unless new facts come out, he appears to be reaping the bitter fruits of church inaction from 10 years ago.  If I could be Pope for a day, I would take every one of those prelates who looked the other way when the allegations began to surface, bust them down to the ecclesiastical equivalent of buck private, banish them to whatever priestly Gulag there may be, and let them contemplate why they wanted to be prelates in the first place; why they abandoned their flock when their flock needed them the most.  Instead, Father Corapi is punised at the mere whiff of accusation.  Once a priest, always a priest.  Isn’t that hwat the Church said last year?

Poor Father Corapi. He has been attacked and tempted…regardless of whether all of the allegations are true/false, Satan must be gloating.

Attack and kill the shepherd, and scatter the sheep. Father Corapi was weakened physically with his ailments the last few years, and now, obviously, he has been weakened emotionally/mentally, and sadly, spiritually.

The battles he spoke of so eloquently in his lectures are being played out right now, with souls as the treasure and booty. Regardless of guilt or innocence, we must PRAY for him!!

Twenty years as a Priest, and all the GOOD he did for the Lord can not be wiped away, even though he is giving up, and not being obedient to the church while they investigate. It is tragic, and I cried for him today when I found out.

I do wonder what the truth is—it seems for him to give up, and to go off on his own as a pastoral minister-type is so out of character, that I do wonder if the drug abuse of his youth has caught up with him in early onset dementia or a latent mental illness. This is so very unlike a good solider that fights the good fight that he preached the last two decades.

Do not be angry with him—PRAY pray pray for him!!
It is not too late for repentance and obedience, and to come back into the fullness of our most beautiful Catholic faith.

Dear Fr.Corapi.My wszyscy ludzie ukrzyzowalismy Pana Jezusa. To co za problem dla nas ludzi opluc i splamic ksiedza.Wielu z nas zrobi to z wielka przyjemnoscia. Fr.Corapi prosze -wroc do nas.Z Panem Bogiem

I am not sure of other accusations, let God judge him, but I have a question of this one:

— He holds legal title to over $1 million in real estate, ....

If he got it from a hospital through the private lawsuit (ref: wikipedia), is it still wrong for him to hold a legal title in real estate and luxury vehicles?

Sex, drugs, alcohols, etc; does any Father completely free from all of it? I’m not a Father or pastor (fortunately!)...but they are still humans…don’t be so much hypocrites just because your job is not preaching. I am a sinner, and I know they are too.

I blame the poor management of SOLT that allowed a recovering drug addict to live by himself with access to buckets of cash and complete solitude. When will Church leadership wake up and grow up?  WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!  Corapi should have lived in community with close scrutiny given his past and the mountains of evidence that recitivism is common with past drug abusers. He was a most impressive communicator of God’s Word. I pray that Corapi will return to God in complete humility realizing his human frailties. Right now, he is an embarrassment. God bless his immortal soul!
