When will manhood be celebrated, Catholic Church style?
There’s certainly a Catholic style of man-hating. It shows in the homilies in which the priest or deacon can only imagine that it’s the husband’s ill behavior that leads to a marriage’s failure - despite ample social research that shows the wife is by far the usual instigator of marriage failure. It shows in the EWTN programming that obsesses over castigating men regarding pornography, whether that show is hosted by women and (supposedly) serving the female audience or hosted by men and aimed at an audience of men. Other examples abound. Just look around, pay attention, look and listen.
About Cardinal Dolan: maybe he is following the steps of Jesus Christ and eating with sinners and tax collectors. There must be a good reason for him doing what he is doing. I just wish he would explain himself so we can stop all these negative speculations.
ML,
Jesus ate with the sinners that repented.
You’re comparing apples to oranges.
