Pope Benedict XVI’s general prayer intention for the month of May is: “That the laity and the Christian communities may be responsible promoters of priestly and religious vocations.”

This prayer intention is especially timely, given that next month the Church will commence the special Year of the Priest proclaimed by the Pope.

So what can the laity and Christian communities do, in terms of finding fruitful ways to promote vocations to the priesthood and to religious life? It’s obviously a key question for the entire Church.

Look for an article about this important topic in an upcoming issue of the National Catholic Register!
