The Papal Pilgrim of Peace

Here at the Register we’re all set to ramp up our regular papal coverage, to report on Pope Benedict XVI’s Holy Land trip.

The Pope will depart for his week-long trip to sites in Jordan and Israel May 8. The Holy Father is undertaking the voyage, he said yesterday in Rome, as a “pilgrim of peace.”

Our Holy Land correspondent, Jerusalem-based Michele Chabin, will be reporting in detail for the Register about Benedict’s historic journey. And our readers can also look forward to getting the incisive insights of Register correspondent Father Raymond J. de Souza, who will be on the ground in the Holy Land for the Israel portions of the Pope’s travel itinerary.

And along with our own in-depth coverage, the Register staff will be monitoring all the news about the papal visit that’s published by other news outlets, making sure to place what happens in the proper context and correcting any media misrepresentations that may arise.

Remember to check regularly with the Register, for constructive coverage of Benedict’s movements that you simply won’t be able to get anywhere else. And remember: Some of the wealth of important information we provide to readers is available only if you’re a Register subscriber!
